DESCRIPTION

A nicely built and well maintained example of this Robert Tucker design, recently re-engined and offered for sale in nice condition. The ketch rig is flexible and easily managed, and the moderate draft makes her ideal for exploring the shallow waters of the East Coast and beyond.

Accommodation

The layout offers five berths in two cabins. In the forward cabin, two settee berths. Removable table. Separate heads compartment to port with marine toilet and washbasin. Chart table to port with pilot berth under. Galley to starboard. Origo gimballed two burner spirit cooker with oven. Stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water system (7 gallon calorifier). 50 gallons freshwater capacity. Refrigerator. Access to the aft cabin, with two single berths, is via the centre cockpit.

Mechanical Systems

Located under the cockpit, Nanni 3.100HE three cylinder 29hp diesel engine, installed new in 2004. Electric start. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Shaft drive to three bladed propeller. Rope cutter. 20 gallons fuel capacity giving approximately 200 miles range at 5.5 knot cruising speed. Maximum speed under power 7.5 knots. Single lever control. The engine has completed some 200 hours running time since new.

Construction

Built by Bridge Boats Ltd in 1970 to a design by Robert Tucker. Agba strip planked hull on mahogany framing. Sheathed marine plywood deck with painterd non-slip and varnished coamings. Cast iron fin keel (bolts renewed 2011). Centre self draining cockpit. Skeg hung rudder. Wheel steering. The boat has been laid up ashore for a few years as the owner has been sailing a larger yacht and will need antifouling and re-commissioning before launching.
