DESCRIPTION

DOVETAIL is the third to last Trumpy built and has the desirable “galley-up” arrangement plan. Built-in 1972, she received a major refit in 2019 including a repower and an update of all systems, mechanicals, and cosmetics. She features a forward wheelhouse, full-beam galley, full-beam owner stateroom with centerline queen berth, a large salon with separate day-head, and a large aft deck that can be open-air or enclosed. Those inspecting this vessel will find her in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition.

Overview

DOVETAIL, Contract #446, is the third to the last Trumpy built and the last of the desired houseboats. Commissioned by Mr. Earl Cantor, she was originally named GERIFAY and was used as a committee boat in the 1974 America’s Cup off Newport, RI. Later names, in correct order, include: LADY Q, HILLARY JANE, CARONIA, ZARYA, STATELY LADY, DISCOVERY and finally DOVETAIL. Her present owner has continued the first-rate custodianship of this very fortunate yacht. Those inspecting her will find her in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, with fresh hull paint, completely updated systems and basically wanting for nothing but a new owner’s personal touches.

Broker Remarks

DOVETAIL is without a doubt one of the most nicely equipped and maintained Trumpy’s on the market. Her generous 18’ beam, on deck day head, and large crew quarters make her very comfortable for entertaining or extended cruising. The present owner has capitalized over $1m in improvements alone during last three years to ensure she is as sound and reliable as possible. She shows very well and those who inspect her will find that she does not disappoint. Almost all 2017/2018/2019 refit work was done by the experts at McMillan Yachts, Inc. in Portsmouth, RI.
