The Stimson IRC 42 has been designed with two goals in mind – to win races and to offer excellent handling. Her clean lines and medium displacement are those of an agile racer, but her stability characteristics and good manners are highly suitable for training/charter activities with crews of mixed abilities. This balance enables the boat to be sailed confidently by virtual novices, whilst the attainable raw performance will reward the more experienced crews with results at the highest levels of competition.
The Stimson IRC 42 builds on Stimson Yachts’ success with other race boats, such as the Reflex 38, a proven IRC race boat that continues to top the fleet years after its launch. And although the 42 has evolved to take advantage of current design trends and build technology, it too is destined to be a ‘classic’, delivering trophies to owners for years to come.
This particular Stimson 42 has had two owners, the current owner since 2014. She is in good condition and not generally ready to re-join the race scene.
