AVALON has quite an interesting history. She started out life named GLEAM at 102’ and shortly after delivery, her first owner circumnavigated the world with his family. After returning, a six-foot extension was added to allow for greater storage space; soon thereafter, she was sold. In 1999, her second owner returned the yacht to the builder in New Zealand where she received an entirely new interior and was given her present name. After enjoying many years of world family cruising, AVALON was then re-purchased by her original and first owner. In 2015 AVALON was purchased by her third owner who has enjoyed her with his family in the Pacific Northwest ever since.
Earning herself quite a name as one of the most celebrated Newport and St. Barth’s Bucket Regatta veterans in history, one would be hard pressed to name another yacht that embodies more than AVALON, what “Bucket Racing” and family cruising is all about. Now she awaits another chapter in life, ready to bring her next and fourth owner to any destination with the same proven safety as she has been doing for years. Thoughtfully updated and very well recommended by her broker.

AVALON comfortably accommodates six owners and guests in three very spacious en-suite cabins aft. Six crew may be accommodated forward in three cabins; the Captain’s is en-suite while the other two share a common head. The galley is forward within the crew area and is separated by a large bulkhead from the comfortable full width salon. Salon seating and dining is to port and a bar area to starboard.
The pilothouse is up a few steps and provides excellent visibility all around as well as allowing for lots of natural light below in the salon. A full-size chart table, aft facing navigation desk, and a 2nd steering station for inclement weather are all located here as well as is the port side companionway to the cockpit. The cockpit can accommodate 10 to 12 guests around two teak tables for dining and cocktails.
