Rival Yachts are classics, the 38 designed by Peter Brett, who raced his personal yacht with considerable success, winning the 1976 Ostar single handed transatlantic race, one of the roughest in which only 76 finishers made it out of 125 entries. Brett created one of the last designs to incorporate a traditional stem and stern, the resulting lines, so easy on the eye yet managing to provide an interior of spacious elegance. Three cabins provide accommodation for six, the galley is a good sea layout and the navigation station shows the hall marks of having been designed by a practical sailor, the same comment applies to the saloon and head. The quality of the fit out and equipment, are indicative of a yacht prepared for serious passage making.
