Dark blue painted steel displacement hull with long keel profile (protecting rudder and propeller, also fitted with weed box), cream superstructure and grey decks with non-slip profile. Dual station hydraulic wheel steering. Minimum air draft 2.31m (7'6") with the masts and screen folded down. In 2009 the hull was shot blasted below the waterline back to bare metal and then coated with epoxy, at this time hull thickness was stated as being almost as new. Owners Comments After searching for some time for the right boat, we found 'Musia' in Northern Holland. Originally designed and built by the highly regarded Kok yard, her first owner commissioned her for cruising European waterways and the Mediterranean so we felt she was well suited to our intended coastal and inland waterway cruising. We are her third owners, the couple we bought her from were Dutch and had owned her for fifteen years, travelling for for 6 months each season. They told us they had visited the Baltic, Germany, Poland, then through the Black Sea and down onto the Mediterranean, before returning back through France and Belgium to Northern Holland. According to them, they found no bridge was too low or waterway she had too much draft for. When we took ownership they were 75 years old and had enjoyed every moment. They didn't really want to give her up but had decided that at 75 enough was enough. We felt that they only sold her to us as we wanted to continue as they had; otherwise we are not sure they would have let us have her! We brought her back through the canal system to Roompot Sluis and across the North Sea to the River Orwell on the East coast of England. We spent the next couple of years cruising the East coast whilst making her more comfortable and updating her. Up until her return trip to the UK this year we had used her for 6 months in the summer combined with a few two week stays in the winter, mainly using her as a base to travel around from. We arrive and light the solid fuel stove and away we go, warm as toast! In the summer we have traveled through Belgium, Holland, and Northern France, seeing some amazing sights and places en route. We were looking for a cruiser that we could go anywhere in and it appears that if you are under 15 meters long and a draft of up to 1.2m and air draft of not more than 2.5m it fits the bill. We have crossed the North sea five times in her and have been very happy with everything we have done. She has nice wide decks for ease of use, stay sails to make her steadier at sea but the tabernacle mounted masts easily fold down within the length of her coach roof, so are never in the way during canal or river cruising. She is always level with jetties when we pull up so you can just step off without steps, ideal for someone with mobility issues or maybe a large dog! We have also stopped on quays and have just climbed off the back deck being level with the quay so you have two easy access heights for different locations. When she goes we will feel the same as her previous owners, she has always looked after us well and will be leaving her fully equipped ready to go, just add food and clothes.
