DESCRIPTION

Built in 2006 by Hallberg Rassey to a design by German Frers. 'Storm Chaser' is a highly specified example of this fabulous cruising boat, including new mainsail, heating, bow thruster, mahogany interior, in-mast furling and electric winches. 'Storm Chaser has been maintained to exacting standards and presents in excellent condition.

The HR 37 has built a solid reputation as comfortable well built long distance cruiser with generous tankage and plenty of space to accommodate blue water cruising gear; winning the Cruising World Boat Of The Year award in 2006.

Domestic Inventory

All interior woodwork in light mahogany matt silk finish. Locker doors with rounded edges and ventilation above. Floor is varnished teak ply with inlaid holly strips. Saloon deckhead has panelling with mahogany strips, cabin deck head in ivory head lining. Mainly halogen lighting is used throughout. Blue Alcantara with contrasting piping in saloon, coordinated blue upholstery is used on the berths. Blue carpet and beige curtains throughout. Webasto cabin heating with warm air outlets throughout the
boat.

MAIN SALOON:
Two settee berths, port and starboard. On starboard side is an L-shaped 2m/6’ 7’’ long sofa with lee cloth, on port 1.8m/6' long. The backrests hinge upwards so that the whole width of the berth can be used for sleeping. Between the settees is a dropleaf table with bottle stowage in centre section. Stereo radio/CD player with speakers. Headroom in saloon 1.92m/6’ 4’’.

GALLEY:
Working surfaces in white composite stone with all round mahogany fiddles/handholds. Insulated icebox with Isotherm electric compressor for chilling, basket for small items. Double sink with pressurised hot & cold fresh water. Manual fresh water pump. Eno two burner gas cooker with oven and grill, on gimballs. Various lockers and drawers. Bread board. Stowage for saucepans and other kitchen utensils. Waste bin.

HEADS COMPARTMENT:
Bulkheads and lockers in white laminate. Teak shower grating. PlexiCor countertop. Mirror. Shower with curtain. 12v shower waste water pump with hand switch. Pump action marine toilet. Stainless steel holding tank, emptied by gravity or by deck pump out. Cupboard below the washbasin. Ventilation through opening porthole, ceiling hatch and stainless steel Roca vent.

FORWARD CABIN:
Two berths 2.12m/7’ 1’’ with stowage above and below. Hanging locker and vanity. Infill cushion between the berths. Opening skylight.

CHART TABLE:
Chart table seat with spacious chart table, chart stowage inside. Electric switch panel to the right of the navigator. Drawers and stowage slots, instrument shelf, pencil holder. Mahogany bookshelf (40cm) installed behind navigator's seat.

WALKTHROUGH:
Large rubber sealed 2-door access to the engine room in the walkthrough. The access is on the starboard side, the service side of the engine. To starboard in the walkthrough there is a hanging locker.

AFT CABIN:
The aft cabin has a hanging locker to starboard and two large berths. Stowage room below and above. Mirror. Seat between the berths. Opening skylight.

Construction

The hull has been re epoxy treated and copper coated.

Hand lay-up GRP hull, with a vinylester based barrier coat. White isophtalic gelcoat. The hull is insulated above water line with Divinycell PVC foam against heat and cold. Integral rubbing strake with brass strip. Blue decorative band in gelcoat. Under the mast support there is a steel beam cast into the hull stiffener. Strong under floor reinforcements, bonded with composite. Lead keel with reinforcement bolted on with fifteen stainless steel bolts. The stainless steel rudder shaft is mounted with two self aligning bearings for low friction in all situations. Strong engine foundations of GRP for effective sound insulation. Deck and coachroof areas and also cockpit are of sandwich construction, solid in parts, laminated to the hull
