DESCRIPTION

This Oyster 37 is a fast, comfortable and very seaworthy fast cruiser, designed by Holman & Pye and built to a high standard by Landamores of Wroxham. Golden Phoenix, in her present ownership for twenty years, has been lovingly maintained to the highest standards, continuously improved and as such has become a much-loved part of the family.

Accommodation

The accommodation is fitted out with teak joinery and blue upholstery and has full standing headroom throughout with eight berths in two cabins. In forecabin, V berth with infill.  Opening hatch to deck.  Plenty of stowage.  Aft to separate heads compartment to starboard with Lavac Royal Dalton marine toilet and washbasin.  Hanging locker opposite with shelving.  In saloon, two settee berths, one converting to a double, and pilot berth to port.  Large double folding table.  Drinks cabinet, shelving, book rack and additional cupboard.  Aft to starboard chart table suitable for full size Admiralty chart and plenty of stowage for charts and books.  Galley opposite.  L shaped layout with Nelson two burner gimballed gas cooker with grill and oven (2008), cold locker, stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water system (heated via engine to 20 litre calorifier with 240V immersion heater (new in 2009)). New Jabsco pressure pump in 2008. 120 litre freshwater capacity.  Manual back-up fresh water pump.  Quarter berth to starboard which can convert to cosy double.

There are teak floors throughout the boat. Blue draylon upholstery in good condition. A warm and cosy interior that is practical both in port and at sea.

Mechanical Systems

Located abaft the companionway with access from all sides in soundproofed compartment with drip tray. Year 2009 Volvo Penta D2 four cylinder 40hp diesel engine.  Electric start.  Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger.  Shaft drive to 18" Bruntons three bladed folding propeller.  Hurth gearbox. The engine, with all new stern gear, was fitted new in 2009 and has only completed 360 hours running time since.  120 litre fuel capacity in single tank with sight gauge. Single lever throttle control with electronic ignition and instrumentation.Automatic fire extinguisher in engine compartment.

Two 115 Ah batteries in two banks charging via 115A engine alternator and Cetek M300 25amp 8 step marine 240V charger for domestics and Cetek M300 starter charger for engine battery. Battery shunt for domestic batteries to start engine in emergency. LED battery monitoring displays for each battery.

300W inverter.

240V shore power system via RCD with sockets. 12V sockets at chart table and cockpit.

Spars & Sails

Masthead rigged sloop, double spreaders.  Anodised aluminium mast and boom by Kemp, keel stepped.  Dyform stainless steel standing rigging with hydraulic backstay tensioner and babystay.  Dyneema, terylene and stainless steel running rigging inc full spinnaker gear.  Hydraulic kicker.  Spinnaker and jockey poles.  Slab reefing mainsail.  Tuff Luff headsail foil.  Lines led aft to cockpit and coachroof via organisers and Lewmar clutches.  Two Lewmar 55 three speed genoa sheet winches.  Two Lewmar 40 two speed spinnaker sheet winches.  Two Lewmar 40 two speed halyard winches. Construction

Built by Oyster Marine Ltd in 1979, moulded by Bridgland and fitted out by Landamores. White grp hull with green style stripes and transom (original gel coat in excellent order). The hull had a full anti osmosis West Epoxy treatment in 2005 by Suffolk Yacht Harbour Ltd. White grp coachroof with light grey painted non skid decks. Alloy toe rails. Lead fin keel with custom enlarged floor for additional stiffness. Large balanced rudder to 2008 Lewmar leather covered wheel steering. Deep and very safe self draining cockpit. Alloy stanchions with stainless steel safety rails. Large alloy mooring cleats. Deep cockpit locker to port, shallow locker to starboard, gas bottle locker, transom locker. two lifebuoy transom stowage "slots" and liferaft stowage under helm seat. Teak slats to cockpit seats. Self draining anchor well. Last surveyed in 2005.
