ALL VIEWINGS ARE CURRENTLY STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
The Weymouth 32 is a highly regarded classic TSMY, known for its excellent sea keeping and robust build. Although closely related to the Nelson 32 and 34, the Weymouth was a more modern hull designed as a cruising boat with a wider beam, offering much-improved comfort aboard. Demelza has been lovingly restored by her current owner whilst retaining the charm and character of her original features wherever possible. She is presented in good condition with an exceptional inventory with many expensive but highly beneficial upgrades including Raymarine nav installation, professionally fully rebuilt engines, diesel heating, new canvas pack, upholstery, and much more!
Viewing by appointment only through our Essex office
Accommodation
The Weymouth 32 layout offers 3 berths in two cabins including the wheelhouse saloon, with approximately 6'1" maximum headroom.
FORECABIN - Fitted with a V berth (an infill to form a double berth could easily be created) with stowage beneath, storage lockers and opening hatch to foredeck.
GALLEY - U-shaped galley to port equipped with a Plastimo 2-burner gas cooker (new 2016) with grill and oven, stainless steel sink, 12v fridge (new 2016) and good stowage.
HEADS - Separate heads compartment to starboard fitted with a marine toilet with holding tank, wash basin and storage lockers. A shower could easily be added if required.
WHEELHOUSE SALOON - Helm position to port providing excellent visibility with a navigator position to starboard. L-shaped seating area to starboard (currently could be used as a single berth or easily adapted to convert to a double) with teak table and further seating area opposite.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT - Pressurised hot and cold water system via a calorifier. MV Airo 5kw diesel fired warm air heating system. Teak cabinetry throughout with carpets, cotton upholstery (new and still wrapped) and complimenting curtains.
EXTERNAL SPACE - The large aft cockpit has been fitted with a full width aft bench seat with cushions and storage lockers. A teak bathing platform is accessed via the fixed stainless steel central ladder.
Mechanical Systems
Located beneath wheelhouse sole, twin Perkins HT 6354 6-cylinder 145hp turbo marine diesel engines (subject to a full professional out of boat rebuild and run for just 47 hours since). Freshwater water cooled via heat exchangers. Morse engine controls (all cables renewed). 1000L total fuel capacity in three tanks (all cleaned and new fuel lines and filters fitted in 2016). Full engine instrumentation (all renewed except for original rev counters including senders). Shaft drives with rope cutters to bronze three bladed propellers. Remote control trim tabs.
The engines give approximately a cruising speed of 12kts with a maximum speed of 18kts.
Electrical Systems
4 x 12v Batteries (new 2018) in 24v banks, all charging via engine alternators. Shorepower system with ring mains, battery charger and immersion coil for water heating. Two 4.5 amp solar panels on coachroof with charge regulator. Electrical distribution panel.
All wiring has been inspected and renewed throughout where necessary. This work included many new lights, switches and a modern smart battery charger.

Construction
Weymouth 32 designed by John Askham of TT Design and Nelson fame, moulded by Halmatic and built by James & Caddy in 1969. White GRP hull (laid up to heavy commercial standards of the time) with refurbished and repainted topsides in International Toplac and copper coated beneath the waterline in 2015/6. Epoxy sheathed wooden superstructure and coachroof fully refurbished in 2015/6. All external teak taken back to bare wood and refinished with six coats of Coelan wood coating. Stainless steel safety rails and guard wires. Alloy framed windows.
A recent survey is available upon request.
Additional Comments
The current owner of Demelza had planned on extensive coastal and river cruising and undertook a very thorough refit to prepare her for this. Due to a change in circumstances these plans have now changed, allowing her next owner to benefit from these works. Her refit included thorough inspection and upgrading of the plumbing, wiring and electrical systems together with a new fridge, cooker, battery charger, hydraulic autopilot, electronics package, central heating system and cockpit enclosure. Much of her varnish was refinished, new upholstery fitted throughout and many, many other upgrades and improvements carried out. Most importantly, she was mechanically overhauled to a very high standard and should provide many years of reliable service.
The company normally acts as brokers for the vendor who unless otherwise stated is not selling in the course of a business. Whilst every care has been taken in the preparation of these particulars the correctness is not guaranteed and they are intended as a guide only and do not constitute a part of any contract. A prospective buyer is strongly advised to check these particulars and where appropriate and at his own expense to employ a qualified marine surveyor to carry out a survey and/or to have an engine trial conducted which if conducted by us shall not imply any liability on our part.
General note on safety equipment: Any safety equipment such as liferaft, fire extinguishers and flares etc., are usually personal to the current owner(s) and if being left on board as part of the sale of a used vessel, may require routine servicing, replacement, or changing to meet a new owner’s specific needs.
