This is a traditional-style Thames launch built in 2016 by Mirfield Boat Company, a name synonymous with quality and excellence. With an innate understanding of boat building and expert carpentry throughout, they haven’t neglected the need for storage: every possible compartment has been skillfully utilized - under the kitchen steps; drawers instead of the kick plinth in the kitchen; under the bed and sofa, and even a full-length built-in cupboard behind the shower unit.........lying away viewing strictly by appointment only.

Accommodation/Finishes

The forward bedroom has a double bed with storage beneath. As well as main cabin lights, there are two reading lights mounted above the bed. The fresh water pump is on the port forward side and is accessed through the storage cabinet. The aft of the bedroom has a storage cupboard. The polypropylene waste tank is in the bottom of the cupboard. The bedroom is heated by a 1000mm radiator.
The bathroom has a 12 volt Vetus electric toilet and wash basin with storage beneath. The shower drains via a waste pump mounted behind the shower wall. The pump switch is mounted just below the gunnel by the shower. The bathroom has a chrome heated towel rail and an electric extractor fan in the ceiling.
In the salon is a wood burning stove and L shaped settee with storage beneath. The forward bulkhead has power sockets for a TV and associated equipment as well as an antenna socket to connects to the external antenna. As well as the stove, the salon is heated by two 1200mm radiators.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob and oven, washing machine and dryer, and kitchen sink which drains directly overboard.
The aft deck has two bench seats port and starboard with storage beneath. The engine panel containing ignition key, tachometer, warning lights and stop button is mounted on the forward bulkhead along with the switches for the navigation lights, tunnel light, horn and bilge pump.

Galley

The wooden worktops and Belfast sink give the kitchen a country cottage feel, but with coloured cupboards, the living space has a modern touch. A gas oven and hob and a television with built in DVD player all come fitted in the boat, there is even the added luxury of a fitted washing machine.

Deck Equipment

At the stern there is built-in seating with storage underneath; one is for the gas bottles, the other can hold the pram cover when it’s not being used to cover the back of the boat and create extra space. Of course it has built in windows for cruising in less than ideal weather. Through the double doors, at the bow, there is built-in cushioned seating all around the edge, with the large table it is ideal for sitting out with company on a summer’s day. Finished with two-pack topside paint and two-pack comastic painted hull, the scrolled columns and beautiful counter stern, make this a unique vessel out on the cut.

Mechanical Equipment

Access to the engine compartment is through two deck boards that are lifted away. The engine compartment contains a Vetus 42 BHP 4 cylinder water-cooled diesel engine, batteries, Mikuni diesel heater, bilge pump, battery isolation switches and fuses.

Propulsion is by means of a reversing gearbox with a 2.5:1 reduction ratio to a 1.5" dia. stainless steel shaft via a flexible coupling to a 609mm (24") dia. bronze four bladed right hand propeller with a 480mm pitch. 3 x 110 amp hour 12-volt sealed lead-acid batteries and a 3kVA inverter provide electrical power for 240-volt supply. The engine start battery is of the same type as the domestic batteries.

Construction

The steelwork is a 10/6/4/construction with 6mm hull plates, 6mm hull decks, 4mm cabin sides, 4mm cabin roof and 4mm watertight engine room bulkhead. Rubbing strakes provide protection against impact and abrasion; most are fabricated from 50mm x 12mm convex Cabin ventilation is provided by louvered vents at low level into the forward and aft doors and 5 x mushroom vents at high level in the deckhead.
