Manufacturers description

THE MAXI 108

Was the latest addition to the Maxi family. Launched at the Gothenburg Show in the spring of 1979, she was an immediate success. In designing the 108 Pelle Petterson showed his continuing ambition to improve and develop his collected know-how and experience from all the other successful Maxi boats. She is undoubtedly one of the most elegant 36 -footers, and her profile and hull shape show her to be the fast-deep sea yacht she is.

If she leaves other boats behind on performance, certainly her interior design is fully in keeping. Beneath the wide uncluttered deck space is a generous interior. A galley that will satisfy the most demanding sea cook and accommodation designed with an eye to luxurious life aboard. The walkway through to the aft cabin also offers easy access to the engine and the quarter berth cleverly doubles up as a seat for the chart table. Storage space is well planned under the abundance of natural wood joinery. Comfort is assured throughout.

On deck the skipper has perfect visibility from the cockpit "There his wheel steering position makes for maximum ease of control.

SWEDISH QUALITY IN THE SUPERB SALOON

With a yacht of the calibre of the 108 you should expect the best below decks. Opposite the comprehensive galley which runs down the port side is comfortable seating for your friends or family. The table lowers to form a generous double berth. The back rests are full depth, the tastefully carpeted cabin sole gives a quality feel which is set off by the warmth of teak throughout. The windows and hatches of smoked Perspex allow the light to stream in during the day, whilst at night you will notice the carefully positioned spot lamps and bunk lights for easy reading or pleasant dining.

LIVING ABOARD

The clever bulkhead arrangement enables the saloon to be used as a private double suite, whilst the full-length quarter berth for the navigator forms a separate and self-contained area for plotting and planning the cruise route. Plenty of room for instrumentation, and well out of the way of the galley and living space, yet convenient to the skipper and for cockpit access.

COMFORTABLE SEPARATE CABINS

The forepeak and aft cabins shows the designers at its best. Ample hanging lockers with long comfortable berths enable the occupants to maximize the space available yet still leave room for a sensible sized saloon. room for a sensible sized saloon. The location of the large heads compartment midships makes for simple ease of access to both cabins without clambering through unnecessary doors and bulkheads. The unique Maxi ventilation system ensures clean dry air circulating throughout, even if rain and water prevent opening the hatches.
