It is a delight and a rare occurrence to find a 90’s era yacht with a Ray Hunt pedigree, of both high-quality construction and the condition of SALLY JO. Truly maintained without regard to cost, she it ready to go in every way, and offers an exceptional opportunity to acquire a stunning classic yet modern yacht.
OverviewClearly an impressive yacht, one that reflects the care, and attention to detail in every aspect, a stunning and elegant Classic Flybridge style yacht, SALLY JO is truly exceptional in every way.
Originally built in 1990 by the acclaimed Lyman Morse Shipyard in Maine, she was completely and totally refit in 2005 by the Craftsman at Front Street Shipyard in Maine. Since she has been maintained without regard to cost, with the attitude if something is looking a little warn it is replaced immediately… When you step aboard, she is a 2014 or 2015 yacht, please see Refit summary.
Traditional Down East Express with Flybridge style. Two Large staterooms with ensuite heads, each with large stall shower. Varnished teak interior with high gloss varnished teak and holly soles.
Upon entering from the Starboard side doors, you are directly at the well designed and updated helm station, with an easy to get around leaning post type helm seat. Directly opposite is the Port side pilothouse door, with counter and storage overlooking the sunken Galley forward.
The Main Salon is just aft and adjacent with two large comfortable leather chairs to starboard, an L-shaped spacious settee to port, with a large custom drop leaf table just off centerline. Bookshelves, and entertainment centers are located on the aft bulkhead.
Forward from the Salon/Helm station, down four steps is the spacious and well thought out Galley. A few of her features include a one-piece stainless-steel countertop with teak trim at any opening, Grunert Cold Plate refrigeration and separate deep freezer, both of which are well insulated and top opening with the refrigerator also having a front door to easily access the lower items. A Chef’s delight with large S/S sink, Miele 4 burner range top, separate Miele H818 Oven, GE S/S microwave. Custom fitted dish locker. To the Starboard side of the Galley passageway, is a large pantry that also has a Splendide washer/dryer combo that actually works well…
Guest Stateroom and Head are forward of the galley. The Head is unusually spacious for a 52’ yacht with two doors for access, one from the passageway and one from the forward stateroom. The has a very large stall shower, in addition to the usual accouterments.
The Stateroom is NOT a V-berth but two separate quite large single beds with custom Zeno mattresses, new fitted sheets and comforters and room to comfortable get dressed.
The Master Stateroom is a spacious retreat with full king bed, Zeno custom mattress, and while offering excellent storage with hanging lockers and lots of drawer space, she also features a split head arrangement, the head compartment on port, and a separate large stall shower on the starboard forward side of the stateroom.
Flybridge as you step up, there are two teak trimmed long settees on both port and starboard, with a highly varnished teak drop leaf table between them. Continuing forward is the helm station with full electronics and all controls and a companion helm chair. The venturi glass is tinted and in crystal clear condition, unlike the milky condition usually found on 5-7-year-old yachts. The aft deck provides access to the swim platform and offers three large hatches to access the lazarette. A Lewmar self-tailing electric winch is centered for use as a warping winch for either port or starboard stern lines.
