DESCRIPTION

Aoife is a fine example of a six berth cruising yacht, extremely well cared for by current owner and regularly serviced. In July 2016 she sailed to Dun Laoghaire.
She came out for annual maintenance in December 2016 when she was anti-fouled and had new shaft anodes fitted. She will be out until the end of March 2017 and is available for viewing in Conwy marina

What the current owner says about Aoife -

Aoife has had two private owners since new in 2004 and we have both cruised her in the Irish Sea. Since buying Aoife in 2010 we have year-by-year upgraded her extensively, as detailed in the specifications. We have sailed her in North Wales, to the Isle of Man, northern and southern Ireland as well as Scotland and had a wonderful time aboard her.

We are now looking for a slightly larger boat with live-aboard potential. Aoife is a capable, very well equipped and meticulously maintained cruiser, well suited for family cruising. Aoife came out of the water before Christmas 2016 for antifouling, new anodes and incidental maintenance, to be ready for the 2017 season. She is in the yard at Conwy Marina and well placed for viewing.

We shall miss her but she is a little beauty and she is ready to sail away.

Fair winds and good sailing.

Accommodations

Cabin layout
The forepeak has two berths with a shelf each side for stowage, hanging space and under-bed stowage for sails and the water tank. There is a hatch opening to the foredeck.

Saloon
Spacious with 1.92m headroom; it has two bench seats that can be used as berths and a fold down table to seat six. Both berths are fitted with a lee canvas and there is under bunk stowage. The main hatch opens to the coachroof and provides ample light. There is a FM radio and CD player.

To starboard there is a generous aft-facing chart table with stowage for charts, a locker for pilot and other books and a rack for pencils and so on. The chart table light has been replaced with a flexible LED white/red lamp (2013).

Galley
Situated to starboard, the galley has a single sink with mixer tap on the pressurised water system. There is ample stowage for crockery behind the cooker as well as stowage under the work surface for canned and dry foods. The cooker was upgraded from an ENO with two burners and grill to an ENO two burner unit with oven in 2013, when the vessel was last gas checked. The galley is equipped with a Jeanneau crockery and cutlery pack. Safety features in this area include a fireblanket, 1kg dry powder extinguisher and a CO monitor and a gas detector. There is a 12v refrigerated cool box. To increase the work surfaces for preparation, a teak fold-down flap was fitted in 2014.

Cabins
The main cabin is aft, fitted with hanging space, a generous double bunk and shelf space. There is under bunk stowage, access to the batteries and the engine.

The heads to port is fitted with a manual Jabsco marine toilet, wash basin and mixer tap which doubles as the shower head. The shower tray has a separate pump and sea cock for drainage. There are coat hooks for hanging wet gear.

LED lighting is fitted throughout the cabins, with white and red options in both cabins and at the chart table. The companionway steps provide the main access to the engine, providing good access to service points. The sugar scoop stern is fitted with shower head and boarding ladder

Cockpit
The cockpit sole is teak covered. There is a collapsable table at the binnacle; the main locker is to starboard with a separate gas locker beside it that drains overboard.
