The Hutting 40 is a rigid yacht, suitable for long trips. The D. Koopmans design is characterized by a long and relatively narrow hull with an S-shaped bilge. The boat is cutter rigged and can be reefed in steps so that any storm can be weathered. Winter 2013/2014 the owner has invested hefty and the boat is completely ready for long trips. For the experienced sailor the boat is easy to sail even short handend. The cockpit offers good shelter and navigation can be done inside at the chart table. The navigation equipment has been renewed in 2014 and is fully up-to-date. The interior is nicely made of teak, combined with white panels. Mercedes marine diesel engine has a lot of hours but will serve reliable propulsion after thorough refit carried out in 2014. Great advantage of this brand is that its components as well as knowledge about technique can be found all over the world.
