The Humber Keel Barge "Whitcliffe" was built by Dunstones in 1924 and was purchased and converted by her present owners a few years ago. The interior has been fitted out to a superb standard to create a luxury houseboat that still moves under her own engine and the right size to cruise the french canal system.

The Humber Keel Barge "Whitcliffe" was built by Dunstones in 1924 and was purchased and converted by her present owners a few years ago. The interior has been fitted out to a superb standard to create a luxury houseboat that still moves under her own engine and the right size to cruise the french canal system.

The accommodation now offers a covered outside canopy/conservatory area, upper saloon, open plan sitting and kitchen area, master bedroom with en-suite bathroom with whirlpool bath, guest bedroom with en-suite shower room, storage areas throughout and much much more.

General Description

The new superstructure was built from steel framework and timber cladding to provide a good size multi level house boat. The interior has been fitted out to a superb standard with Oak faced plywood and solid Oak floors.

Cabin heating is provided by upstairs and downstairs mutifuel burners as well as diesel fired central heating with designer radiators. Ceiling fans are fitted in the saloon and master bedroom. The vessel has been fully insulated to provide maximum comfort giving warmth in the winter and coolness in summer. The windows and portholes in the upper saloon are  double glazed and the lower portholes are opening giving an airy feel.

The rear of the boat is covered in a canopy area that gives a conservatory feel and area for sitting outside no matter the weather.

The Upper saloon has a light and airy feel for either living or dining and is fitted with a radiator and "Dickinson" heater.

Stairs lead down to the open plan Lounge and kitchen area with a large multi fuel stove which provides heat to the radiators. The Kitchen is fitted to a very high standard with solid oak surfaces and gloss cream cupboards. There is a full size Bosch fridge/freezer, dishwasher,wine fridge, Dickinson oven and separate Wallas diesel hob, Samsung microwave/convection oven. Under stairs storage, utility room with tumble dryer and fitting for washing machine.

Moving aft, the second bedroom has a fitted double bed and bed side cupboards, airing cupboard with a large hot water tank and pressure water pump. En-suite shower room with cubicle and wash hand basin and electric WC. Access to the engine room and a large store room.

The forward master cabin has fitted wardrobes and walk in store cupboard. En-suite bathroom with corner whirlpool bath. Wash hand basin and wall mounted WC.
