Introduction
SEA BOUND, by design, is a unique, handsome, sleek, 2 cockpit, 2 salon, 2 stateroom motor yacht. Huckins has built famous boats and yachts for corporate executives and built some of the famous PT Boats of WWII for over 90 years. Incredibly, this yacht can attain a 30 knot max speed, but more uniquely, can cruise at 22 knots for almost 900 nautical miles non-stop. Impressive! Her AIREX construction makes the hull extremely strong and lightweight.
The current owner has invested over $350,000 in 2019/2020 to upgrade many mechanical and electrical systems. The previous owner also invested approximately $300,000 in upgrades during the prior two to three years. New CAT C18 Engines were installed previously. The original build design parameters were for a strong high speed yacht that could run non-stop from Galveston, Texas to Key West and the Bahamas.
Her layout offers 2 Aft Deck seating and dining areas - the first is a lower cockpit; the second is a larger semi/fully enclosed raised cockpit that can be fully enclosed with Eisenglass under its hardtop. She also has 2 full salons - the first is the combination salon and raised pilothouse; the second lower formal salon is large and very comfortable. A day head is located off the main salon. There are 2 staterooms with en-suite heads.
There is some PT Boat DNA in SEA BOUND. According to Soundings magazine, June 16, 2017: Three companies built PT Boats - The Huckins Quadraconic hull was the best around in terms of ride quality and sea keeping. The Quadraconic hull is as free from pounding as any displacement hull. (Soundings magazine) “The hull has a fine entry, so when running at semi planing and low planing speeds, the sharp forefoot does a fine job slicing through the chop. The Huckins is certainly a better boat offshore than the voluminous floating condos populating many marinas.....”
SEA BOUND is a one-of-a-kind, large motor yacht with beautiful, unique lines and design. She boasts a 30 knot performance and unusual 900 plus mile range at 22 -23 knots. Performance and looks set this yacht apart from other yachts. She is currently professionally maintained and is truly a turn-key yacht!
Accommodations
Starting aft, the aft deck features a hydraulic swim platform and large cockpit with new awnings and access to the engine room. Up two steps is the spacious and open second aft deck area that can be open or fully enclosed with Eisenglass under its permanent hard top. Up two more steps is the expansive bridge/helm area with an informal salon that is fully enclosed and climate controlled.
The main deck features 3 separate indoor and outdoor entertainment spaces with panoramic views at each one. The cockpit and aft deck are a great place to read a book, entertain, cook the days catch, and have dinner or cocktails. The bridge gets plenty of light through the large windows and is equally as impressive.
The lower deck has two double staterooms with en suite heads (one fwd and one aft), plus a separate day head, a large formal salon and copper clad galley. She has all of the comforts of home with luxury finishes & linens throughout. Her interior is calming with white walls and wood accents.
