Maria Alba II offers a new owner a great opportunity to acquire a high-performance cruiser-racer. Depending on the buyers wishes he can enhance the boat for cruising use only or make other adjustments to maintain a competitive racing role.

Bought by the current owners in 2006 the yacht was renamed Maria Alba II and has undergone steady improvement since. Whilst most modifications have been aimed at improving her usability as a cruising yacht, a strict weight budget of one ton was adhered to in order not to overly affect her sailing characteristics. The main aims were to improve easy usability, and to improve self-sufficiency so that the yacht could cruise and be at anchor without the need for port visits.

More recent works have covered systems like electrical and wiring as well as “cosmetics” such as topsides paint. Further details of her refits and history follow below.
