This Gib’Sea 28 is in good condition throughout with recently updated equipment and sails. This Fin keel version with inboard diesel engine is well serviced and looked after. Epoxy coated and copper coated in 2010. This Gib’Sea 28 is being sold with a good inventory of items and is ready to sail away. A 2017 survey report is available on request.

Accommodation

The 1982 Gib’Sea 28 offers 6 berths in 2 cabins. The forward cabin has a good size V berth with storage underneath and an opening hatch to the foredeck. Saloon has a central table with a bench seat to starboard and L shaped seating to port. The Saloon table can seat six adults comfortably. The saloon table drops to form a double berth to port and a single berth is to starboard using the bench seat. Aft of the starboard bench seat is the chart table with all navigation equipment and storage for charts. To port is the Galley which has an Origo 6000 four hob spirit cooker and oven, 2 Galley sinks with manually pumped cold water and icebox. Opposite is the heads with good headroom, Marine head and single sink with manually pumped cold water. Aft of the galley to port is a good size single quarter berth. This Gib’Sea 28 is carpeted throughout and has fitted curtains.

Sails and Spars

Masthead rigged sloop with keel stepped aluminium Z-Spars Mast (original) and Boom (new2008) with slab reefing mainsail and furling genoa (new furling system 2010). Stainless steel standing rigging (new in 2000) and Terylene running rigging. 2 x Lewmar ST30 self-tailing sheet winches, 1 x Gibb 28RA halyard winch, 1 x Halyard winch and1 other mast mounted winch. This Gib’Sea 28 is also fitted with Lazyjacks.

History and Construction

This Gib’Sea 28 was built in 1982 by Gilbert Marine to a M.Joubert design. Hull, deck and superstructure are moulded in white GRP with moulded non-skid decks and self-draining cockpit. Iron Fin keel with spade rudder and tiller steering.

The owner of this Gib’Sea 28 had a substantial amount of work carried out in 2010 when he had the keel dropped and re-bedded (survey report recommendation), professional osmosis treatment, hull epoxied and also copper coated all in 2010.
