propeller propeller; Spanker; cockpit table; Temptation Frers ' 59 this beautiful and elegant craft was founded in 1983 at the behest of Commodore of the New York Yacht Club, John Santry Jr, which entrusts the design to a young and very determined German Frers asking him to draw a small Big IOR able not only to win all the races, but also to cross the Atlantic by their own means; a pure racer, but with great qualities of Marina. As a building material was chosen a particular aluminum alloy (DAA 72722) and because it was the one that provided the best compromise between lightness and rigidity, and because Mr John Santry was the holder of the most important aeronautical design studio of the time, he was able, therefore, to apply its deep knowledge in the structural calculations of the project, giving it a strength like no other, but not at the expense of proper weight distribution and dynamic loads. Even for the construction was chosen the best yard available: the Newport Offshore Shipyard, already author of the Defender of the America's Cup and expert in the processing of aluminium. The result was up to expectations: the boat was very fast on all points of sailing, had a favorable rating and its sailing means enabled him to beat a real craft far larger when sea conditions were particularly harsh. For three seasons he dominated all Eastern United States races, then, after crossing the Atlantic, he successfully fought the legendary Fastnet race in British waters, the owner's heart shattering aristocratic Italian Riccardo Bonadeo. Legend has it that, won by such great beauty and speed, Dr. Richard has left in the hands of a now satisfied John Santry Jr, a check digit-free! But it was worth it, in fact, renamed with the family name "Rrose Selavy", paid off the owner with a magnificent series of victories, including global Maxi of 88. Then with the advent of the IMS boat lost competitiveness and was transformed into a beautiful, fun and safe cruising boat. And here begins the second life of Temptation, returned to its original name, was given to the skilled shipyard workers of Argentario and with the collaboration of Wally yachts, were set up the interiors with full respect for the american style, it was equipped with many comforts and indoor equipment was simplified to make it usable by a crew of just two people. Once again the result was higher than expected and the Temptation got great holidays safely to its crews. In the biennium 2009/2010 Temptation has been subjected to a very accurate refitting which involved dismantling the revision and the replacement of all deck equipment, and tree booms, as well as all the hatches that were overhauled and repainted,; covered keel pins and shrouds, hull have undergone ultrasound; steps were taken to painting with awl grip deck, mast, boom and topsides; the Grouting and epoxy cycle of the keel of hull. Were overhauled and painted all the interiors and bilges, motor and generator have been completely overhauled; you have to rebuild the bow pulpit and anchor roller to be able to use a small bowsprit carbon. Temptation was equipped with 6 new batteries Mastervolt from 90 amper, a mainsail and genoa racing, and a new code 0 to 210 me; 5% COMMISSION + VAT charged to BUYER Staging and technical: Engine Alarm, Water pressure pump, Deck Shower, Gangway (carbonio), Automatic Bilge Pump, Electric Windlass, swimming ladder.
