Entering from the cockpit area down the companionway, there is a U-Shaped galley to port with hot and cold pressure water, stove with oven, Adler Barbour refrigeration/freezer and ample counter and storage space. Opposite to starboard is the chart table which is at the head of the quarter berth. Going forward is the main salon with a large dinette to port and a settee opposite. Forward still is an enclosed head/shower to port and a hanging locker to starb. The forepeak houses a double berth and has ample locker and storage space.
The hull is all hand-laid single-layer construction, with an extra-thick deck and hull lamination schedule. The fiberglass resin is "Thixotropic" open mold resin particularly suited for larger boats, which bears the Lloyd's Register of Shipbuilding Approval for use in boat construction. The entire deck, cabin top, and topsides are all reinforced with Philippine mahogany marine plywood sandwich material. The hull and deck are laid up in separate one-piece molds, then joined with S/S through-bolts, then glassed deck-to-hull, integrated to form essentially a one-piece boat. The inside of the hull is separated from the interior lining by a 1" dead air space to provide for extra insulation and prevents condensation from forming thus eliminating mildew. The interior is a complimentary blend of white padded vinyl overheads, white fiberglass head and galley. The joiner work and bulkheads are hand-selected Burmese teak. All cushions are newly upholstered in soft ecru nap velour. The sole throughout the salon, galley, head and stateroom is newly varnished teak and holly.
The vessel was designed by Robert Perry as a high-performance world cruiser. The exceptional hull design with fin keel provide sailing characteristics that result in excellent tracking, perfect balance, outstanding stability and above all, speed. The theoretical hull speed is 7.86 knots which she easily achieves and readily exceeds. The combination of the modified fin keel very large skeg and rudder system provide the tracking and stability you'd expect to find on a full keel boat, yet with the balance, pointing ability, speed and control of a fin keel boat.
