The Epic 23 hits the sweet spot of big bay boats, offering light weight, shallow draft and unbeatable stability for moving about on the deck to fight fish. Even the passages alongside the helm station give plenty of space to rush past to follow a fish fore or aft. The entire sole and casting decks are covered in a dirt- and grime-repelling nonskid ­surface that hoses down easily at the end of the day.

The Epic 23 SC looks great as an open boat with its flared bow and ample freeboard. It is those characteristics that make the boat capable of bluewater fishing when the weather cooperates. It can be equipped with a T-top for added comfort and rod storage.

The helm station boasts a full array of lighted electrical switches in plain sight and in easy reach. A tilting stainless-steel wheel with knob gives a substantial feel of heft while navigating bays, flats and inlets. Epic partners with Simrad electronics, equipping each helm with a 7-inch NSS evo2 multifunction display (MFD). This also eliminates gauges because the engine functions display directly on the MFD, along with GPS/chart plotter CHIRP sonar and optional StructureScan.

Jump seats in the aft deck add secure seating for anglers. Forward of the console is a double seat for passenger comfort. All told, the vessel can seat six. A custom trailer is also available.
