About this Discovery Yachts Discovery 67
The stunning lines of this iconic Discovery 67 are a reflection of her pedigree design by Ron Holland: A beautiful looking yacht with winning performance. This fine blue water cruising yacht has been owned from new by the current owner, who completed a circumnavigation within the first few years of ownership. The leg between South Africa and the Canaries being completed single handed.
She is configured to sail easily short handed with a raised internal nav station, solent rig with self tacking jib and electric in mast and headsail roller furling. With a spacious centre cockpit, twin helms and five cabins, she is also perfect for charter and corporate entertainment, and comes with annual berthing and guardianage by separate arrangement.
HULL - The Discovery 67 hull has a composite construction for superior strength , yet still with lightness to give performance. Having a Divincell Polymer structural foam core to the hull allows it to absorb energy and the foam also provides a great level of acoustic and thermal insulation - easily coping with the heat of the tropics or the cold waters of higher latitudes. A layer of kevlar is also fitted in the forward sections below the waterline. Two sealed watertight bulkheads up forward provide buoyancy and extra safety. Superior vinylester resin, non-pigmented gelcoat and two coats of epoxy below the waterline have provided additional protection against osmosis since new.
KEEL - Solid lead keel with an efficient hydrodynamic profile weighing 13,200 kg's. This gives a very high ballast ration of 39%, which gives fantastic stability and comfort.
RAISED SALOON - Only four easy wide steps separate the cockpit from the raised saloon area offering unique panoramic views of your surroundings. Seating for eight around the large dining table on the port side is comfortable and sociable.
RAISED NAV DESK - The forward facing raised navigation desk on the starboard side also provides a panoramic outlook for keeping watch in the warm and dry when the weather isn't so good.
GALLEY - The large U shaped galley to port is a pleasure to use whether at sea or at anchor, with generous work surfaces in Corian, ample cupboards and storage for long passages, plus good ventilation. A dishwasher, microwave, gas oven and hob plus a huge fridge and freezer ensure that life on board is just like being at home. The double sink is set near the centreline of the boat, so that it can drain on either tack. Since water from sinks, washing up, vegetable preparation etc. always seems to have a mind of its own, the whole of this inboard worktop is Velstone with large Velstone and cherry fiddles to contain all spillages, which can easily be wiped back into the sinks! Hot and cold pressure water is fed to a mixer tap. There is a separate foot operated fresh water pump. A large draining bin is built in besides the sink, so that plates etc can be left to dry securely. This is also a really useful place to put things down and know that they will be secure.
CABINS - Luxurious Natural-mat breathable mattresses ensure a good nights sleep with plenty of ventilation. For the tropics and hotter climates, air conditioning is provided to each cabin with individual controls. There is also plenty of locker and wardrobe space provided for storage.
HEADS - Electric toilets, separate showers and efficient hot and cold running water ensure home from home luxury.
