'Monarch' is a very stylish and capable bespoke fast cruiser or club racer, designed and built by the highly regarded shipwright and designer John Mullins, designer of the successful Jaguar 21 and 23 yachts, and also responsible for development of the Dragon class in recent years. Offering attractive lines and a practical open plan layout, she was built to an exceptionally high standard and has been maintained regardless of cost by her original owner who has now decided that it is time to retire from sailing. Her sparkling sailing performance is well proven locally and a recent survey (available on request) declared her to be in 'first class condition' making her a great opportunity to acquire a beautiful and unique yacht at a fraction of current build cost.

Construction

The Monarch 23 is a design by John Mullins (designer of the popular Jaguar 21 and 23, also responsible for development of the Dragon class in recent years) built on a 'no expense spared' basis for a close friend and as a potential production rival to the Hunter Sonata. 'Monarch' was built to a very high standard for her owner in epoxy impregnated mahogany strip planks on a combination of hardwood and plywood frames. Teak decks, cappings and toe rail. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to spade rudder. Self draining aft cockpit.

Monarch was surveyed in September 2017 for insurance purposes and found to be "built to an exceptionally high standard using top quality materials. She has been maintained to a very high standard and remains in first class condition". In our opinion, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a unique and charming fast cruising yacht that will turn heads everywhere she goes!
