Wooden Ships Comments on this Whitehall Skiff Canadian Whitehall skiff built by the owner from Bear Mountain plans. Very nicely built boat by a skilled amateur, finished to a high standard and rarely used since finished. She comes with a road trailer for easy transport and two pairs of oars and bronze rowlocks. The Whitehall skiff is a renowned design, incredibly pretty and very fast, this boat is no exception and glides through the water like she is floating. An immaculate little boat in as new condition. Length 16' Beam 4'     Construction Strip plank epoxy hull using bead and cove Canadian Red Cedar. Top strakes of ash each side. Finished in a thin layer of epoxy glass cloth inside and out and varnished with Tonkinois. Oak stem and keel. Elm transom. Ash rubbing strake and gunnel all round. Apple wood knees. Small foredeck in elm. Varnished Brazilian mahogany thwarts. Aft seat for the cox, 2 thwarts with rowing positions. Adjustable foot stretcher for each thwart. Transom hung rudder in varnished Brazilian mahogany with a bronze headstock and tiller lines. Pine slatted sole boards.
