DESCRIPTION

Wooden Ships Comments on this Sailing Pram Dinghy Clinker pram dinghy built by Stones of Salcombe circa 1960. Traditionally built as a tender, capable of carrying a significant load. 2 rowing positions. Fitted with a rig for simple fun sailing. The dinghy is light enough to be launched and recovered by one person but capable of taking the family out on the water. Recently launched after a period ashore with very few leaks, she is clean tidy and ready to go. Length 9’6” Beam 4’3”     Construction Clinker planked in mahogany all copper fastened to steam bent oak timbers. Mahogany fore and aft transoms. Oak quarter knees. White D-section rubber rubbing strake all round. 2 rowing positions with varnished mahogany thwarts Varnished mahogany centreboard case with a plywood dagger board. Trnasom hung udder with bronze hangings. Drop plate rudder with varnished mahogany stock.     Rig Gunter rig on a keel stepped varnished pine mast. Varnished pine boom and gunter yard. Stainless steel standing rigging tensioned with lanyards. White terylene mainsail.
