DESCRIPTION

Wooden Ships Comments on this Laurent Giles Wanderer Laurent Giles Wanderer design built by the International Boatbuilding Training College, Lowestoft, in 1985. She was built for a chap at the college by the students, supervised by the professional on site shipwrights. It is clear from some of the detail the students were testing out many of their new found skills with some intricate finishing touches not normally seen on a yacht of this type. Bought by the present owner shortly after the build and kept on the south coast with summer cruising around the English Channel. In recent years she has been slightly neglected and is in need of a new owner to take her on and carry out the various repair jobs required. A full list of the work needed is available on request. The hull is basically sound and in very good order, she is mainly suffering from fresh water damage around the top and a lack of maintenance in the last few years. 5 berths with full standing headroom throughout, a proper cockpit and an easily handled rig. The Wanderer is known for being a sea kindly, safe and very capable boat, it is not often one comes on the market and they tend to be very sought after. Although in need of some refit work, the boat is sensibly priced and well worth the effort as she will be a superb, very safe and easily handled cruising yacht once finished.
