Wooden Ships Comments on the Laurent Giles 38 Built in 1981 by an experienced Cornish boat builder to a Laurent Giles design. 20 examples have been built in GRP to great acclaim and as the forerunner to the Bowman 40, and were known as superb offshore boats, fast, capable and much admired.
