DESCRIPTION

Wooden Ships Comments on this Holman Twister

Kim Holman Twister built by D.C. Fuller of Chichester in 1966, she is sail no.300.

The Twister is a design that needs no introduction, another of Holmans superb yacht designs that has proved to be an exceptionally fast, well mannered and capable cruiser racer. With finer sections than the slightly larger Sterling, this is an easily driven hull that balances well on all points of sail and can be single handed without any trouble.

This particular boat has cruised extensively with the previous owner with voyages to the Azores on a number of occasions. She is fitted with a wind vane self steering system to help with long distance single handed sailing. Bought by the present owner in 2019, she has had a certain amount of professional refit work including re-splining of the underwater hull, new seacocks and completely new standing and running rigging. The engine is in very good order, recently serviced and ready to go.

The yacht had a survey carried out in April 2022 and the key reccommendations from that report have been attended to, full details available. The coachroof varnish work and deck have been re-coated this spring.

A true classic, the Twister is a superb yacht design and this is a good value example.
