DESCRIPTION

Wooden Ships Comments This Gaff Cutter was designed by Harrison Butler and built by Anderson Rigden and Perkins in 1937. Major refit by the current owner including a new deck and coachroof and a reconditioned engine ready to be fitted. The hull still needs some external attention, the paint will have to be stripped back to bare wood, some caulking and paying done and some localised repairs to planking around some fastenings. The hull has dried out considerably in places but will take up once back afloat. The spars all need varnishing with some repairs required to the gaff yard. This is a pretty yacht and would make an excellent project for the right person.   Length 24'5" Beam 8'1" Draft 3'   Construction Planked in 1" Columbian Pine all copper rivet fastened to 3"x3" sawn oak frames with a single steamed intermediate timber.
