She is a very safe, solid and comfortable boat that has been cruised extensively by the present and previous owners in various parts of the globe. She has a total of 9 berths including 2 doubles in a very comfortable interior. Her dog house provides excellent shelter from the elements at sea and her rig is easily handled by a small experienced crew. With a newly fitted Yanmar diesel and Fischer Panda generator she can be self sufficient for long voyages. Sold by Wooden Ships to the present owners in 1991 and since then she has been cruised to New Foundland, Greenland and back plus many other shorter trips around Europe. Detailed notes of her trips and maintenance have been kept by the present owners along with regular survey reports and all invoices for work done so we have a detailed record of the boat and her upkeep. A recent survey produced a definitive work list from which a thorough refit was carried out between. This survey report, subsequent inspections and a list of the work done is available upon request. The boat is now in lovely condition both structurally and cosmetically and is ready for the next custodian to continue her adventures around the globe. Length on Deck 38'6" Length Overall 47'3" Length Waterline 33' Beam 11'2" Draft 6'9" Thames Tonnage 18TM Construction Carvel planked in Pitch Pine fastened with copper rivets to sawn oak frames with a single steamed intermediate timber. Wrought iron strap floors across the centreline. External cast iron ballast keel secured with iron bolts. Last drawn and checked 2018. Solid pitch pine yacht laid deck, caulked and payed with Sikaflex and joggled to a varnished king plank. Varnished teak coverboards and high toe rail all round. Varnished teak coachroof coamings with bronze portholes and a sheathed plywood coachroof deck. Varnished teak butterfly skylight on the coachroof over the saloon. A doghouse was added to the boat in varnished Iroko with large bronze framed windows and entrance doors. This provides an excellent sheltered spot when long distance cruising with good visibility out of the boat. Self draining cockpit set deep in the boat with varnished teak coamings and painted thwarts. Seat lids lift giving access to deep lockers beneath. Tiller steering to a transom hung rudder. Rig Gaff cutter rig on a solid varnished keel stepped mast. Varnished gaff yard, bowsprit and slab reefing boom. Stainless steel standing rigging with spliced eyes to new galvanised rigging screws to external galvanised chain plates. The rig had a complete overhaul in 2018 with new rigging screws, lots of new running rigging and the chain plates were removed and refastened with new bolts. Full details of this work available. Running backstays on levers. Boomed staysail for easy operation. Jib sets on a Furlex roller furling system to the end of the bowsprit. Powerful galvanised winch on the mast for halyards. Pair of non self tailing sheet winches on the cockpit coamings. Large wardrobe of sails, most of which date from 2012/2013 all in good condition. Machinery Yanmar 4JH57 57hp 4cyl diesel installed in 2018. Currently less than 5 hours running time. PRM 280 gearbox with single lever controls to a centreline fixed 3 blade bronze propeller. 2 separate stainless steel fuel tanks with a total of 64 gallons capacity. 2 x 50 gallon stainless water tanks. 4 x Rolls AGM domestic batteries, total of 464ah. Separate start battery for the engine and generator. installed new in 2012. Charged from engine alternator or 240 volt charger. Installed shore power system with 13 amp plugs. Inverter to supply 240 volt when at sea. Fischer Panda 4000i 240 volt 4kw diesel generator installed new in 2014. 1 large and 1 small manual bilge pumps and 1 auto electric pump. Accommodation Total of 9 berths including two doubles. Ample headroom under the coachroof in the saloon. Doors into the dog house with a seat each side and a hatch into the engine in the floor. There is a single quarter berth either side if the small seats are removed, very safe and deep berths perfect for sea going passages. Chart desk on the port side forward end of the dog house with all the nav intruments for easy sight. Steps down into the boat with the galley to port and double berth to starboard. Galley has a Plastimo Neptune 2 burner gas stove with oven and grill, single stainless sink with pressurised hot and cold water. Lots of storage space around the galley with dedicated crockery shelves and deep lockers. Passageway forward into the main saloon with a settee berth either side and a pilot berth to starboard. The port side berth can be filled in to create a small double and the starboard side pulls out to make an ample size single. Dropleaf mahogany table. Bookshelves and large storage lockers around the saloon. Starboard side passage going forward with the heads compartment to port and hanging lockers to starboard. Heads has a Simpson Lawrence manual sea toilet which discharges either into a black tank or directly overboard. Hand basin with pressurised hot and cold water. Separate single berth cabin to port. Large storage space to starboard extending right to the stem with anchor locker beneath.
