DESCRIPTION

Wooden Ships Comments on this Buchanan Sea Spray sloop Designed by Alan Buchanan and built by W.E Sutton in 1962, the design is known as the Sea Spray. Bought by the present owner in 2012, she went through a major professional refit in 2013 with a new deck, coachroof, new transom, re-wiring, new engine and all new navigation systems, then in 2018 all the standing rigging was replaced. She is a very well presented and superbly maintained yacht where it is quite clear no expense has been spared. She has all the gear, systems and equipment a new owner could hope to have and is absolutely ready to go cruising. The work has all been done to a very high standard and the finish has been kept up to that standard since the completion of the refit. Cosy cabin with 3 good berths, separate heads and a good galley, she has adequate space for trips away and is fitted with a pressurised hot water system. The cockpit is very well designed and offers a lot of space and real sense of security for a small boat. The owner has very much enjoyed his time with the boat but has now gained the confidence for greater adventures and requires more space so is therefore regretfully upgrading to something larger. Whoever is lucky enough to take on this Buchanan will reap the benefits of the years of work and investment that has recently gone into her. Survey reports from 2012, 2014 and March 2021 available.
