DESCRIPTION

Wooden Ships Comments on this Andrew Wolstenholme Coot Known as a Coot, designed by Andrew Wolstenholme and built by the first owner in 2015. Evidently a very well built boat by an enthusiastic and skilled amateur. The Coot has a very pretty clinker hull of traditional appearance with a near-vertical stem filling out amidships to firm, round bilges before tucking up to a sweet little transom. The Cat rig balances beautifully for very enjoyable single handed sailing, however there is enough space, stability and buoyancy to carry crew. She has 2 rowing positions and due to the placing of the mast, the bow rower can work the oars with the mast still in place, a small feature making this a very practical family boat for messing about on the water. Complete with a heavy duty cover and combination piggy back road trailer and launching trolley, this is a complete package in tidy condition and ready to tow away.   Length 10'11 1/4" Beam 4'7 1/4" Draft 6" (2'7" plate down) Sale Area 70sqft     Construction Epoxy glued clinker plywood construction. Hardwood floors glued across the centreline Laminated pine stem and apron. Brass rubbing band down the stem and along the keel. Oak breast hook and sawn oak knees in the quarters. Oak rubbing strake and gunnel with 2 rowing positions. Varnished pine transom. Varnished oak thwarts. Painted plywood centreboard case with a wooden centreboard, raised and lowered by hand, held down with a simple bungee. Laminated plywood mast support in the bows with an oak mast step. Varnished pine sole boards. Drop plate rudder with a varnished ash tiller.     Rig Cat rigged ,meaning the mast is stepped well forward in the boat, with a gaff sail on varnished pine mast. Varnished pine boom and gaff yard with oak jaws. The only standing rigging is a stainless steel forestay to the stem head fitting. Hallyards and topping lifts run to turning blocks at the base of the mast and back to jammers on the centreplate case so they can be operated by the helmsman without having to go forward. Cream terylene mainsail of 70sqft.     Equipment Rigging, spars and sail Centreplate Rudder and tiller Pair of oars and bronze rowlocks Buoyancy bags Varnished sole boards Heavy duty all over cover Combination road trailer with piggy back launching trolley Lighting board           Disclaimer: These particulars have been prepared in good faith from information provided by the Vendors and are intended as a guide, Wooden Ships cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessel.
