Not only is MI LIAN a true Blue Water sailing yacht she’s fast in light airs and easily handled by a cruising couple.
If you are looking for an elegant, easy to sail, reliable, robust sailing yacht designed for fast cruising in absolute comfort then this is an opportunity to purchase a true turn-key 70-foot steel yacht in exceptional condition.
The current owner purchased MI LIAN ( ex FASCINATION ) with only 150 engine hours and since then has only improved on this classic Joe Adams designed cruiser.
The new owner will benefit from the experience of the current, whose mantra of "ease of maintenance and more time at sea" makes this such a special vessel when coupled with her luxury accommodation and superb sailing pedigree.
Consistent upgrades to the systems went as far as removing the interior and reinstalling along with her mechanical components. The owner has undertaken all the hard work with a yacht the presents nowhere near her build age. Surveyed as in Bristol condition in 2012 after a major refit, she has just had another major refit in 2018.
These refits coupled with full time professional crew throughout her life means MI LIAN is essentially a new yacht.
Benefit from the current owner's efforts and expense and just go sailing.
Designed by the famous Joe Adams who’s reputation extends from involvement in designing successful racing yachts like PLUM, CRAZY, HELSAL and APOLLO which were pushed to the limits in the harshest offshore conditions. The knowledge gained from these successful race winners and the philosophy that cruising boats should be fast and not need many crew to sail are design features integrated into MI LIAN.
She’s the biggest Adams ever built and no expense was spared. With the original building brief being to create a robust, fast and reliable ocean cruiser able to be sailed short-handed and with an open and light luxurious interior. The result is sailing nirvana - MI LIAN
Don't miss this opportunity to benefit from and completely upgraded and refitted 70 foot yacht, owned by an experienced commercial fleet owner who did not spare any expense on upgrades that will see MI LIAN sailing the oceans for many years to come.
It would be an absolute pleasure to show an owner with grand sailing plans MI LIAN, she will only impress on inspection.
Original Design Brief
The overall design for this special yacht is for a long-range, lightweight, fast cruiser. A spacious open interior with an air of elegance and quality.
This has been achieved with lightweight high-grade materials. Liberal use of timber, leather and quality fittings throughout, all installed by experienced and skilled craftsmen.
Designed for quality of life on board by or cruising family and their guests. Accommodation is in 3 cabins, 2 heads, 2 showers, lounges, dinette and a well-equipped galley.
A simple design with reliable systems, easily sailed by a crew of two or shared with a full race crew and all the thrill of racing.
From the designer Martin Meyers
This yacht is a credit to all those involved in her creation. "The ADAMS 70'project involved listening and heaps of discussion of her builder's ideas. Sketching and mock-ups in the partially completed hull, as well as 3 dimensional CAD modeling all, went into the transfer of design concepts into the finished interior.1:20 scale drawings were made for layout, with sketched details provided for the guidance of the three wood craftsmen employed on the project."
"The owners of this yacht asked for elegance, quality, and openness. Soft white overheads will reflect natural ambient light and bring the interior to life. ln the main saloon the padded overhead treatment is subtle and relaxing, softening the outline of windscreen mullions, coach roof, and side deck construction. The absence of timber trim in the overheads is designed to allow your attention to be focused at eye level. The midship area is united in a common theme of light
