DESCRIPTION

Wooden Ships Comments on this 5 Ton Hillyard Sloop Designed and built by Hillyards of Littlehampton in 1938. Known as a 5 tonner, this refers to her Thames Tonnage of 5TM, a measure of her interior volume. The boat has been in the same professional ownership for over 40 years, she has been meticulously maintained and is in lovely condition and a superb example of one of Hillyards earlier boats. Despite her length, the boat offers 3 good sized berths, over 6’ headroom in the saloon and a heads and galley. The design offers good sea keeping capabilities and a well balanced rig that is easy to handle. Last surveyed in 2019, a copy of this very complimentary report is available upon request.
