A stunning yacht with classic lines from the pen of Laurent Giles, a world renowned designer. And constructed by the equally well known yacht builder Picchoitti in Italy in 1984. Constructed with 6.5 mm marine aluminum hull and decks. We purchased dark island in August 2019 and intended her to be long distance, long term live aboard, and as such we purchased new Genoa, main and mizzen Sail’s, having the original sails serviced as good spares. Also fitting 3kw Vitus inverter charger and 6 x 180ah batteries to replace and increase domestic battery bank, also replaced to led salon,galley and aft state room lighting. Updated heating with new Eberspacher hydronic heating D5 (old one kept for spares) that supplies radiator heating in galley, blower heating in aft state room and separate blower heating in saloon, both controlled locally. Unfortunately personal circumstances have forced us to change plans and would be the right thing to let this beauty go. As with all yachts there always something to do and we will continue to upkeep and improve things as we go. Either sailing or motoring, Dark Island holds her line well and is as good to sail as she looks, she oozes confidence and presents well out on the open waters, she’s easy to handle short handed inspiring confidence and wishes that the voyage was a lot longer!
