Chimera is without doubt one of the best examples of an F31 Trimaran in Europe. She is the long aft cockpit version but the interior was professionally remodelled by Osmotech to make her a comfortable cruiser/racer. She is actually the F31SR variant which means she has a taller rotating rig than the standard F31. She is in excellent condition: no expense has been spared to keep her in tip top shape. She has been mainly dry-sailed but has antifouling paint.
The F-31R is an enhanced performance version of the well-proven, maxi-trailerable F-31. Like all earlier Corsair sport cruisers, the R version is exceptionally fast, roomy, and comfortable. A substantially larger sail plan is spread on a modern rotating rig to give the already sporty F-31 an extra jolt of adrenaline that is sure to please the true performance enthusiast. The mast a beautifully rotating wing section developed for Corsair. It is two feet, six inches taller than the standard F-31 mast. The sail plan is simple and efficient with a square-top mainsail, blade jib, asymmetric spinnaker, and screacher. Flown from the end of a seven-foot bow sprit, the roller furling screacher is one of the most powerful and versatile sails in the inventory and can be used to windward in light airs instead of a genoa. Interior moldings and equipment have been kept to a minimum to save weight, which boosts sailing performance. Nevertheless, cabins are spacious with standing headroom, a double bunk forward, and two single settees in the main cabin.
Chimera is located in Pwllheli North Wales, she on her aluminium trailer ready to be launched for demo sailing. Delivery to any UK mainland address is included in the price.
You really won’t find a better F31.
