Contender’s only walkaround model for several years, the 31 Fish Around is built on the proven hull of the Contender 31 Open — widely regarded as one of the best 31-foot offshore designs in the business. While the Fish Around lacks the expansive, uncluttered deck space of a true center console, Contender has done a good job of maximizing her fishing potential while still providing a compact cabin with overnight accommodations for two. Equally important, the Fish Around is a full 360-degree walkaround on a single level, much like a center console and better than a regular walkaround. Her deep-V hull is designed with reverse chines for a drier ride, and the hull is cored above the waterline to reduce weight. Fishing features include an above deck live well, bait-prep station, two insulated in-deck fish boxes, a recessed bow rail, transom door and wide walkaround decks. An anchor locker is standard, and there’s an enclosed head below along with a mini-galley and a removable dinette table. A fast and stable ride even in rough conditions, the Contender 31 Fish Around will top out at nearly 50 knots with twin 250hp outboards and cruise easily at 33 knots.
