THIS TOM COLVIN DESIGNED, FAZZIO (SC) BUILT NORTH SEA TRAWLER, RECENTLY MADE THE PASSAGE FROM PORTLAND, OREGON, TO CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. PROVEN CRUISER, WILL GET YOU TO WHERE YOU WANT TO GO! PURPLE DREAM IS READY!!

VESSEL IS CURRENTLY PURPLE, GREEN AND WHITE PICS ARE FROM WHEN CURRENT OWNER PURCHASED IN 2016.

1999 53ft Custom North Sea Trawler!! This is a must see vessel, ready to be made yours. Keel cooling for all systems, makes this vessel easy to operate and maintain. Built in South Carolina at Fazzio Boatyard, designed by Tom Colvin, "Purple Dream” has 1/4" hull plates below the waterline, and 3/16" above the waterline. Superstructure is all 10 gage mild steel. The keel is 1"x7"solid bar stock steel, and runs all the way past the prop to protect the prop and anchor the lower end of the rudder shaft. The Detroit 160 hp 4-71 diesel fires first turn, and purrs like a kitten, as does the 15kw Isuzu generator. The transmission on the Detroit is a Twin Disc MG-509, and shifts flawlessly. 2 1/2" drive shaft with a 32" bronze prop. A hydraulic anchor winch is powered by a 10hp hydraulic pump system located in the engine room. All batteries are Rolls. All wiring is marine grade, tinned copper wire. Boat is wired for shore power, and has an inverter. Navigate safely with all Furuno electronics. Forward stateroom has two single bunks, with storage under them, there is also a hanging locker for additional storage. There are two overhead hatches for ventilation. Just aft of the forward stateroom, there is full size head with large shower, sink, washing machine, and behind paneling, a 20 gallon water heater.

Aft and to port, there is a single berth, with underside storage as well as another hanging locker. Under floorboards you will find the two water tanks and blackwater tank.

Up the stairs into the pilothouse with aft settee, helm station with electronics. There is more storage under the settee. On either side of the pilothouse, there are heavy duty 4-dog steel doors for access on both port and stbd sides. There is a large floor hatch through which engine room access is gained.

Aft stairs lead to the galley/salon area, where you will find granite countertops, large refrigerator, and storage. There is also a 4 burner electric range with oven, and a microwave. On the port side, there is a single bunk, with more storage. An aft heavy duty steel, 4-dog door gives access to salon from exterior, and provides ventilation. Aft water tank is located under the floor, as well as access to driveshaft bearing.

There are full walk around decks for ease of access all around the vessel. There is a second helm station atop the pilothouse roof. The vessel also has paravane stabilizers, with large fish that run around 16' deep in rough conditions. They work flawlessly and make for a very smooth, comfortable ride!

$26,000 spent having the bottom blasted, painted with three coats of Americoat 235, and then 2 layers of Petit anti-fouling. The zinc anodes were replaced at that time 2016, as well as the hull from the waterline to the gunwale was painted. The lower window's were replaced, and the steel around them repaired. $2569 recently spent on rebuilt hydraulic steering rams, replacement fittings, and hoses, in February 2019.

The boat is set up with 3 water tight bulkheads. There is a bow and stern crush zone, with 3 cabins through the interior. The forward cabin is set up with a twin v-berth, a hallway berth, and the head. The center compartment is the stand up engine room, with the pilot house on top. The aft cabin is the galley, with an additional "sofa berth". There is 6' 2" head room through out the vessel, including in the engine room. The hull and superstructure is all spec'ed out as quarter inch steel, and of acceptable thickness in the 2016 audiogauge/ultrasound. There are 3 exterior water tight doors, with 4 dogs each.

She is powered by a 471 Detroit Diesel, with a Twin Disk transmission, and the single screw and rudder. The single four blade screw uses a conventional packing. The rudder is controlled by a twin ram hydraulic steering system with two Kobelt steering heads, and a Comnav auto-helm. She has a 15kw 3-phase generator, set up mainly for 110/220 single phase service, but with a tap for 220V 3-phase service, with a Marathon generator head, and a 4 cylinder Isuzu diesel. This is supplemented by a 2000W power inverter/100 amp charger, with an energy management system to control the battery bank. The house battery bank is a 810 amp-hour unit by Rolls battery that is fed by a 130 amp 12V alternator on the main engine. The generator and main engine are started by an 8D starting battery. The engine and generator are supplied by a fuel manifold that is set up to transfer from any of the 4 integral fuel tanks, to any other fuel tank, or using the transfer pump and filter system to polish the fuel in the tanks. There is a total of 1500 gallons of diesel capacity. The fuel is filtered by a twin rancor secondary filters, and then fed to a manifold before being supplied to the primary fuel filter for the main engine, and the generator. There is a significant 220V air conditioning system of unknown size that will cool the boat even on a California summer day. The air conditioning system, main engine, and generator all use keel coolers.

In port, the electric system is supplied by a 110/220 50amp single phase plug, and there are two 110/220 50 amp shore power cables, as well as a 110V 30 amp shore power cable included with the boat. This supply's the main 220V Square D power panel, with a 110V sub panel for 110V service. The air conditioning, two water heaters, range, oven, are all 220V service, with an addition 50 amp, 220V 50 amp welding outlet as well. This can be supplied by the generator, or through the shore power system.

The water system includes two 12V pressure fresh water systems, plumbed to 3 integral tanks. Total water capacity is approximately 500 gallons. Two tanks and one water system is before the engine room, the other is behind the engine room. In the compartment before the engine room there is a shower, electric head, a washer/dryer, and sink. Behind the engine room there is a 30 gallon per hour cruise RO water maker, supplying a tank, with a pressure water system, and the sink for the galley. The galley also includes a 110V electric fridge, and a small table top 110V dish washer will go with the boat. There is also a exterior hose bib off the rear water system for exterior wash downs.

The generator powers a 3-phase 220V electric motor that run the hydraulic pump to power the hydraulic anchor winch. The winch holds 130 foot of 5/8" chain, and an unknown amount of 1/2" steel cable. A 88lb Delta anchor hangs on the bow, and there are 3 "Danforth style" anchors. There is rigging for two paravanes, as well as a replacement paravane for the boat. Both masts are built of aluminum, paravane booms are steel. The dingy is lifted by a hand block and tackle. All of the rigging is galvanized, and in need of replacement. There is also sea anchor, as well as all required rigging for the vessel. The vessel comes with a 2002 West Marine 10'2" RIB dinghy with a double fiberglass bottom. The dinghy was rebuilt in Mexico in 2016, and still holds air, but no outboard engine.

The hydraulic helm includes a 12V Comnav autohelm that is wired to the Furuno chartplotter, that comes with charts from 2016 for the West coast of the US down to Panama, and then the Western Caribbean, and the US's gulf Coast. A weatherfax receiver is connected to the Furuno chart plotter. There are two Icom VHF radios. There are two depth sounders, including one set to display on the Furuno chart plotter that also displays a Furuno 65 nautical mile radar that is mounted on top of the aft mast. There is also a back up Furuno GPS receiver. There are manuals for all of the engines, transmissions, generators, inverters, navigation system, ovens, air conditioners, water maker, sea anchor, etc. There are also all sorts of replacement filters, hoses, cable, wire, switches, lights, pumps, rigging tools, nuts, bolts, lights, etc.
