DESCRIPTION

Remarks :
Excellent example of the very popular Colvic Watson 23'6". These robust and sea worthy craft have attracted a cult following due to their good looks and sea keeping qualities. Instantly recognisable from a distance they stand out from the featureless "sameness" of todays production boats. Built in 1978 by Colvic Craft of Witham in Essex, but not launched until 2002, this was one of the many home completed versions.Remarks :
Excellent example of the very popular Colvic Watson 23'6". These robust and sea worthy craft have attracted a cult following due to their good looks and sea keeping qualities. Instantly recognisable from a distance they stand out from the featureless "sameness" of todays production boats. Built in 1978 by Colvic Craft of Witham in Essex, but not launched until 2002, this was one of the many home completed versions. She has benefitted from good owners who have over the years upgraded and added to her whilst maintaining the DNA of the lifeboat design first introduced in 1874 by GL Watson & Co in Scotland.
Reliable and well maintained Perkins Perama M30 diesel, Hurth gearbox which has only completed 300 hours since it was replaced and a 3-bladed bronze propeller. 3-4 Berth accommodation with full standing headroom. Kemp mast and sails new in 2004. All standing rigging replaced in 2020. Electronics include a NEW Raymarine Axiom colour chart plotter/fish finder, Standard Horizon Eclipse DSC VHF with inbuilt GPS, NASA Speed, Depth and Wind.
Hull topsides polished, under water areas epoxied and anodes changed in July 2020.
Accommodation :
Below decks is warm and welcoming. The interior has been nicely finished using a combination of teak faced marine bly and solid teak pieces. The headroom is a heady 6'3" so even the giants amongst us will be pleasantly surprised,
The cabin is accessed by a lockable two door and folding hatch top system. Two steps down and you are in the main saloon. To starboard is the Sitting/dining area with removable central table. By using an infill piece and one of the back rests this converts to a good sized single or a snug double. Behind the seating area is plentiful storage cupboards.
Opposite the seating area is the linear galley with Plastimo 2-burner hob and grill. The present owner has removed the gas but this can be easily reinstalled. There is a sink with pressurised cold water. The engine is fitted with a heat exchanger so a calorifier could easily be installed. It looks like provision was made for one but was never installed. The majority of the pipework required is in place.
Aft is the heads compartment with sink, pressurised water and new Jabsco marine toilet. The toilet with associated pipework, seacocks and valves was installed in 2019. In the bow is the fore cabin with privacy doors. The V-berth is generous and has storage below. All cabins are fitted with 240V and 12V lighting. There are three pin sockets in the cockpit and saloon. The electrics were professionally installed.
