DESCRIPTION

ALL VIEWINGS ARE CURRENTLY STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

The Colvic Liberator is a well tested cruising yacht designed by Ed Dubois and highly regarded for their good performance and sea keeping abilities. Offering comfortable accommodation and a spacious cockpit they are also easily sailed shorthanded and make good passagemakers, often considered a great alternative to a Sigma 33 or Westerly Storm. Jacana was professionally fitted out to a high standard from new and has a good inventory including autopilot, recent standing rigging, diesel heating and more.

Accommodation

The accommodation is professionally fitted out in teak and offers up to six berths in two cabins.

FORECABIN - Fitted with a V berth with infill to form a double, beneath berth stowage and hatch to foredeck.

HEADS - Full width heads compartment with Jabsco marine toilet and washbasin, hanging locker and large storage area.

SALOON - The saloon offers comfortable seating for 6/7 adults at a U-shaped settee to port (can convert to double berth) and a settee berth to starboard around a large table with folding leaves. Lee cloths are fitted to the settee berths and good storage is provided beneath the settees and in various lockers and cupboards.

GALLEY - Located to port, the galley is equipped with a gimballed two burner gas cooker with oven and grill, stainless steel sink, laminate worktop with teak fiddles and storage areas.

CHART TABLE - To starboard with chart storage, navigation equipment and quarter berth aft.

GENERAL EQUIPMENT - Teak cabinetry, cream cotton upholstery and timber soleboards throughout. Webasto diesel fired warm air heating system. Pressurised hot & cold water supplied via a gas water heater (may not meet current gas requirements)

Mechanical Systems

Located at companionway, Bukh 36hp three cylinder marine diesel engine. Seawater cooled. Single lever controls with electric start and cockpit control panel. Saildrive (new diaphragm 2018) to fixed 2 bladed propeller.

The engine was last serviced by local marine engineers in September 2018 and the saildrive shaft seals and diaphragm were replaced at the same time.

Electrical Systems

2 x 12v 110ah batteries (domestic and engine start, both new 2018) charging via engine alternator. Shorepower system with ring mains and battery charger. Solar panel. Wind generator (requires attention). Electrical distribution panel. Full cabin lighting.

Sails and Spars

Masthead rigged Bermudan sloop. Keel stepped silver anodised aluminum alloy mast (new 2012) and boom (new 2007). Alloy spinnaker pole stowed on deck. Stainless steel standing rigging (new 2016) with backstay tensioner. Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail. Headsail furling system. 2 x Lewmar 44 self tailing primary winches. 2 x Lewmar 40 self tailing secondary winches. 2 x Lewmar 36 control line winches.

Construction

Colvic Liberator 35 moulded by Colvic Craft Ltd in 1981 to an Ed Dubois design and professionally fitted out to her first owners requirements. White GRP hull with blue style stripe, superstructure and light grey painted non-slip decks. Wheel steering to skeg hung rudder. Fin keel with encapsulated lead ballast. Tekdeck effect to cockpit sole and seating. Teak coachroof grab rails. Large self-draining cockpit with lockers port and starboard. Self-draining stowage for two gas bottles. Self-draining anchor well.
