DESCRIPTION

Remarks : This Cobra 750 is a well maintained yacht we have a good maintenance history of this boat. She has been in the same ownership for a number of years and always been well cared for. The boat is currently moored on the picturesque River Yealm (Yam) so please allow some notice for viewings. The boat benefits from having a reconditioned Volvo 2002 engine fitted in 2005 by the local Volvo Penta agent (paperwork to back this up), She has had a new mast purchased before the current owner purchased her, the standing rigging is not original and has also been replaced but  not thought to be in the past 10 years, the running rigging is in good order and the lines are all lead aft to the cockpit to help with short handed sailing. The current owner uses the boat regularly and mainly coastal hops the southwest coastline, but with many weekly trips during the summer months up the Yealm and outside the river mouth. She is moved during the winter months to a drying out mooring on the Yealm on a spring tide she will not float until the next spring so she is technically dry for winter as she sits on her bilge keels. Owners Comments: I purchased the boat in 2004.  Although it has been under-used, constant care and attention has been lavished upon it.  The sails are in excellent condition and the powerful 18 hp Volvo engine has been a real ‘tide beater'.  The boat has only been sailed in local waters between Exmouth and Falmouth.  Being a bilge keel boat it has been ideal for exploring the many rivers and inlets along the coast.  The boat is easy for a single sailor to handle, as all running rigging can be controlled from the cockpit. The boat is in a remarkably good condition for its age. Accommodation : 5 berths in 2 cabins There is a double V berth in the fore cabin Double berth in the saloon Quarter berth to starboard  There is a generous chart table with storage (currently removed as gives more internal space, easily refitted!) The galley is equipped with a stainless steel sink 2 burner cooker/grill The heads are in a separate compartment with a wash basin and sea water toilet with a hanging locker opposite & mirror Factory fitted teak interior Inventory : Navigation Aids: Autohelm tiller pilot Handheld Magellan GPS 320 (can be linked to the Clipper GPS repeater in the cockpit) Autohelm/Raymarine ST30 echo sounder (repeater at the chart area) Seavoice 550 VHF radio Plastimo steering compass Ground Tackle: 10kg Bruce anchor Chain & warp Stainless steel bow roller Deck Gear: 2 x Lewmar #16 self-tailing, 2 speed sheet winches 2 x Enkes #8, 2 speed halyard winches 10 x Spinlock rope clutches Deck organisers Aluminium mooring cleats Halyard bags Stainless steel pulpit, pushpit Cast aluminium stanchions  Stainless steel boarding ladder Foredeck hatch Teak grab bars Deck ventilators Safety Equipment: Wire jackstays Navigation lights Manual bilge pump Fire extinguishers Equipment: Inflatable dinghy Canvas sprayhood with stainless steel frame & grab bar Canvas mainsail cover Boathook Various warps & fenders Outboard engine bracket Flag bag on pushpit Cockpit speaker & saloon speaker Mechanical and Rigging : Construction: Hull built by Cobramold & fitted out by Cobra Yachts at Hayling Island in 1978 Designed by David Feltham GRP hull deck & superstructure Bilge keels Tiller steering Skeg hung rudder  Self draining cockpit Refit in 2009 Mechanics: Reconditioned Volvo MD 2002 18hp diesel engine (installed in 2005, serviced professionally regularly) Shaft drive 3 blade fixed pitch propellor Single lever Morse control Electric start (second start button by the companionway) Electrics: 12V 110ah service battery 12V 102ah enginie battery Charging from engine alternator 12V plug sockets in forward cabin Tankage: Fuel capacity 45 litre (back up fuel tank 6 litres with changeover valve) in plastic tanks Fresh water capacity 100 litres in a flexible tank Rigging: Aluminium spars Spinnaker pole Single spreader rig Stainless steel standing rigging Terylene running rigging (new forestay & backstay 2007) Bulldog roller furling gear (serviced & new bearings 2007) Slab reefing mainsail All lines lead aft to the cockpit Sails: Mainsail by A Team Sails (good) No 1 genoa by A Team Sails (good, new UV strip 2013) No 2 genoa (good) Storm jib (very good) Spinnaker (good)
