This vessel was SOLD on June 4. The 1950 Chris-Craft Sportsman is a true classic that any nostalgic boat enthusiast would love to have in their lineup. Built with pride and quality workmanship. OLD GLORY, the name given to this lady by her current owner, still boasts that same quality workmanship. With OLD GLORY, it is not about the destination, rather, it's all about the journey. The owner offers 'OLD GLORY' for sale with great pride. She is designed to carry 4 adults with comfort and ease to enjoy her graceful stride over the waters of any freshwater lake and river. She is able to hold as many as 6 people. This 1950 Chris Craft is in very nice condition both mechanically and cosmetically. Upon first sight, this boat will draw your attention because it just looks good and you don't see one like it every day. The current owner has taken great care to make this vessel very pleasing to the eyes and mechanically sound in its operation. There is no mistaking the quality of craftsmanship from a 'by gone' era when things were carefully hand-fitted one piece at a time. You can see the attention and care given to this boat when you see this beautiful classic. This 1950 Sportsman underwent a restoration 8 years ago with a 20-gallon fuel tank replacement. In 2020, she underwent a complete bottom, keel, and rib replacement. The bottom was replaced with 2 layers of high-quality Sapele plywood with 4 layer applications of epoxy adding exceptional strength, integrity, and a solid ride. This is a true no-soak bottom. No need to soak the boat in the water before using it every season. During her 2020 restoration, the original Chris Craft "K" engine was repainted in the classic Chris Craft blue and reinstalled with a thorough examination of the transmission to make sure her drivetrain functions with reliability and precision. This Chris Craft is strong, flexing her 95 HP muscle that provides an easy to enjoy cruising speed of 13-18 knots for an enjoyable day with family and friends. During this restoration, the electrical system was upgraded from 6 to 12 volts, providing exceptional starting power and complete reliability of function. The exterior and interior have been treated with a 12 layer application of Epiphany marine varnish making the deep, rich, mahogany hues, appear to be almost liquid to the eye. It displays a very simple beauty to look at. The new owner will have the luxury of many admirers wherever OLD GLORY decides to play for the day. She proudly displays the stern flag/light and a Chris Craft bow pendant to put the beautiful finishing touch on this exquisite vessel. The blue upholstery was replaced 6 yrs ago and is in great condition and pleasing to the eye. Every seam and stitch displays good symmetry and balances with an overall compliment to the interior mahogany hull. A custom-fitted navy blue mooring cover fitted perfectly to her classic form is in exceptional condition with an estimated value of over $3K.
