This CAL 34-2 has been recently surveyed and is ready to sail - priced to sell! The Cal 34 is a great sailboat whether you are new to sailing or have owned multiple boats over many years. This Cal 34-2 provides a balance of stability, sailing qualities, and comfort, built by Jenson Marine/Cal Boats and designed by C William Lapworth Cal 34 MK II. Legendary racer/cruiser, she is in the water at present. Seller states he would feel comfortable sailing and moving her as is, on her own power, or we can arrange winter storage, all systems are operable, Masthead instruments are functioning, Depth gauge works as intended, autopilot (well its old, but works), sails included main, genoa. Head was rebuilt 7 years ago, holding tank is a bladder, its small 3-gallon, 100-watt solar panel installed on companionway hatch, Cored deck has been repaired by drying, injecting a wood stabilizer agent (rot doctor) this has resulted in a solid deck and thickened epoxy injected. She is a dry boat, never sunk, always covered during winter, we've had her in the family since 1985, only 2 owners. Work we've done in the past few years cut mast by 5/8 of an inch, new mast step, g 10 deck plate installed under mast, the deck has been injected with thickening epoxy ( to repair compression), Every time deck hardware was worked on we drilled oversize hole, injected thickened epoxy, and re-drilled holes, re-bedded with sealant, Rudder shaft column was faired with graphite and epoxy, Prop shaft replaced 5 years ago, Engine is a Westerbeke 30, she is in ok shape, New motor mounts 5 years ago, lowers were replaced 7 years ago, new anchor 5 years ago, new mast head wind unit installed 2 years ago, this unit while compatible requires interpretation as it reads, higher than actual, its 7/10 so 20 knots is 14 actual or 30 knots is 21 actual, What she needs, life line, stanchions need to be recut and new bases installed with set screws, port side port needs to be installed in the head, parts are included in the sale, hot water heater will soon need to be replaced in a couple of years.
