DESCRIPTION

CHANTICLEER is one of the Grand Dames of yachting. Originally built for Ogden Phipps and named BUCKPASSER after one of his more famous thoroughbreds, she was designed by Jack Hargrave and, at the time, was the largest vessel built by Burger, and the first Burger with a helipad.

She was purchased by singer, actress and philanthropist Frances Langford in 1986. Ms. Langford was a passionate yachtswoman, and it was she who added the cockpit to facilitate her love of fishing. CHANTICLEER was enjoyed by Ms. Langford, friends, family and dignitaries until the time of her passing in 2005. Since that time she has had three owners, each devoted to preserving the legacy through obsession to preventative maintenance, upgrades and attention to detail.

The time has come for a new chapter as her current owners have other matters to attend. Their desire is that the next owners not only appreciate the overall quality of CHANTICLEER, but also value her place in yachting's history.

Vessek Walk Through

CHANTICLEER is a proper yacht in all respects, and moving about is facilitated by spacious decks and wide-open spaces.

Boarding either port or starboard provides access fore or aft, and multiple entrances to the interior. Moving aft through wing doors leads to the fully covered and enclosed aft deck and the exquisite dining area featuring the compass rose "C" table with matching chairs. This area is air conditioned, or, there is plenty of natural ventilation for al fresco dining. A large aft door leads to the cockpit, and there is a spiral staircase to the boat deck.

Going forward through a sliding glass door and over the CHANTCLEER threshold you enter the rich mahogany and leather saloon and gentlemen's bar. This area is both sophisticated and inviting at the same time. Mahogany is used throughout and the beaded headliner with recessed lighting presents a tasteful contrast. Large windows run the entire length port and starboard giving panoramic views to all.

Just forward of the saloon is the similarly styled day head.

Continuing forward from the saloon along the starboard side is a companionway leading to the pilothouse access, and further forward to the galley and forward lounge.

The in-line galley provides abundant counterspace and storage. Additionally, there is plenty of refrigeration and freezer capacity giving the chef all he/she needs to produce gourmet meals aboard.

The forward lounge features a raised full-beam U-shaped settee and two teak tables that encourage relaxed conversations in a casual setting. Natural light abounds.

The accommodation deck is accessed from the aft starboard side of the saloon. Descending the stairs you come to the companionway which leads to the midship full-beam master stateroom, the aft VIP stateroom and two (2) additional guest staterooms. Both the master and VIP staterooms have en suite heads. There is a third head for the other staterooms.

The VIP stateroom includes decor and accessories commemorating CHANTICLEER'S rich history.

The pilothouse gives the captain excellent visibility and sight lines, and all controls and nav aids are within easy reach and easily referenced.

The flybridge and boat deck a extremely spacious. The flybridge provides a centerline helm as well as full control stations port and starboard. The boat deck has added space that was originally used as the helipad.

The fore deck is ship-like and perfect for lounging and observing those idyllic sunrises and sunsets.

Crews quarters are forward and down from the galley. There is a crew's mess, captain's cabin with en suite head, chef's cabin and a third cabin with three (3) single berths.

The engine room access is from the crew's quarters.
