Wooden Ships Comments

Designed by Alan Buchanan and built by Harry King of Pin Mill in 1961. A typical Buchanan yacht of the period with attractive lines and good sailing characteristics making a superb family cruising yacht capable of offshore long distance passages.

As noted in the recent survey she was built to a high standard and is particularly strong with large scantlings, most probably specified by the first owner to give him reassurance when sailing offshore.

She has been in the present highly experienced ownership for many years and has been well looked after with ongoing maintenance and upgrade work carried out every year. She has been cruised many thousands of miles, both single handed and with a larger crew, sailing round Ireland 3 times, to Spain twice, a trip to all the Azores isalnds, visits to Scotland and Shetland plus numerous trips to France and around the West Country.

A recent thorough survey was carried out by a very competent wooden boat surveyor which was complimentary of her build quality and current condition. Various issues highlighted will be attended to and a copy of this report is available.
