DESCRIPTION

This is a unique boat that has literally been around the world. She is solidly constructed with a proven track record, and is perfect for the cruiser who does not want to be encumbered by complex and expensive systems. Due to the nature of her purpose, she is well-suited for world cruising, and everything is 12 volt.

Accommodations

The main cabin is located in the stern of the boat, and has its own entrance from the cockpit. It consists of a comfortable double berth, and has numerous lockers, drawers and shelves for storage. There is also access to the main cabin of the boat on the starboard side, as one walks forward.

The forward cabin has a V berth, and has lockers located above the berth for storage.

The head and shower are located just aft of the V berth, to port. The head is a manual Jabsco, with a lockdown handle. There is also a vanity with storage and mirrors.

The salon table is located to port, with ample seating for 6 adults. There is a large amount of storage located under the settee.

Galley

The galley is located to port, most of which is located under the port seat of the cockpit. As one comes down he companionway, immediately to port is the gimballed 3 burner Benavent propane stove and oven. There is a counter-top with some storage recessed below, as well as cabinets above the stove. Directly behind is the rest of the longitudinal galley, which consists of a 12 volt fridge, double stainless steel sinks, and numerous lockers for storage.

Electrical

This boat has been used for world cruising, and as a result there is no A/C system. The boat runs off 12 volt DC power, and is therefore self-sufficient anywhere in the world.

There are separate starting and windlass batteries, as well as two 8D Batteries. To facilitate the system, there is a Perko battery switch. The breaker panel is located at the nav station, and has labeled glass fused toggle switches.

There is a Newmar charger, as well as an Aerogen wind charger. There is also a Xantrex 100 inverter, as well as a Xantrex battery monitor.

Electronics

The electronics on the boat are complete, allowing one to cruise comfortably without being burdened by too many systems. They are not outdated and will provide many more miles of service.

Deck/Hull

The aft deck is large, and has seats in the stern. It provides a comfortable platform for cruising and for when at anchor. There is a grill mounted on the rail, connected to propane. There are custom davits on the stern for a dinghy.

The mizzen is located forward  of the raised deck, just behind the cockpit. The emergency tiller is located at the base of the raised section of the deck, and on the starboard side of the deck is the companionway hatch to to aft cabin below.

The cockpit itself has been designed for safety when at sea, and is deep. There is a custom hard dodger located above the cockpit, keeping occupants dry and offering a platform for any additional antennae. It also ensures no chance of anyone getting injured by the boom.

The foredeck is open and spacious, giving one room to move around, as well as providing a large platform for a dinghy or liferaft. There are grabrails leading forward, as well as bars for additional safety when at the mast.

The windlass is a Lofrans Tigres 1200 Watt, with foot controls located alongside for ease of use.

Engines

The Perkins 4.236 is renowned for its reliability and durability. The engine hours are believed to be 687 since overhaul. The 84 hp is more than sufficient to drive boat against most current and in most normal conditions. The transmission is a Hurth HBW 360-2R #10-3898.

The engine is located under the cockpit, and there is access all round except through the front. However, due to the size of the engine room, access to the complete engine is easy.
