EXTERIOR ARRANGEMENTS

There are stout stainless steel rails surrounding the exterior decks of the 33 with chained access points amidships to port and starboard and astern. A folding ladder leads from the rear access point to the moulded integral bathing platform and a further folding section into the water.
The aft sundeck is very well protected with folding screens allowing the 33 to navigate below many inland European bridges. These fold independently of the single tube stainless steel mast which hinges aft. Separately from this are the canopy frames which support the canvas canopy which has approximately 2 years life left before a new canopy will be required. This covers all the seating area of the sundeck and has a removeable rear panel. Aft of the canopy the deck is clear allowing easy walking around the entire exterior of the vessel within the handrails. The sundeck is fitted with seating for 5 on moulded boxes with squabs and reversible backrests give comfortable seating. Inside these boxes are storage for loose items and in the aft starboard 3 gas bottles can be stored. The exterior helm is to the starboard side fitted with a good sized chart table with Perspex cover and repeater indicators for the engines and controls. The Vhf handset is located at this helm.
Moving forward the side decks are approximately 10” wide and interrupted by 1 step, the fore deck is mainly flat and allows good lounging out space. A central escape hatch is fitted with skylight to the forward cabin.

INTERIOR ARRANGEMENTS

Access to the interior of the Broom 33 is from the sundeck via a sliding Perspex door and 4 steps. These lead to the main saloon which is flooded by natural light due to exceptionally good sized cabin windows surrounding the entire cabin, those to port and starboard open by sliding giving good air to the interior.
To the starboard side there is a wardrobe aft with a shelf over and the electric locker above. The sofa in 4 sections runs the starboard side of the saloon and this converts to a double berth for occasional use. A removeable storage box makes the sofa into a L shape.
To port a L shape storage cupboard part of which is the drinks locker and the top section lifting for chart storage. Ahead of this a loose seat with storage below and then the interior helm unit with 3 drawers below and a sliding seat over. The interior helm features the main controls and switches. The saloon floor is fitted with 3 hatches to gain access to the engines and for major servicing the entire saloon flooring and seating can be removed giving excellent engineering access for a boat of this style
Forward is a further hatch giving access to a storage space fitted with the calorifier and battery charger and pumps.
Moving forward by 3 steps down to the open plan galley which is located to starboard and of a U shape design. Fitted with a gas oven and hob, double sink and 12 volt fridge, storage cupboards below the worktops, there are further cupboards on the aft bulkhead for smaller items. Opposite to port is the forward wet room fitted with a pump toilet, moulded basin.
The forward cabin is fitted with two V Beds and a wardrobe to port, further storage is found beneath the berths, two portlights and an overhead escape hatch give good light and air to this cabin.
Aft from the saloon on the starboard side 4 steps lead down to the aft cabin. The battery boxes and master switches are sited to one side and the saloon table is of gateleg design and stores beneath the main stairs. When opened six can sit around it with comfort.
The rear cabin for a boat of the 33 ’s dimensions is exceptionally comfortable and constructed to typical Broom quality and design with a queen-sized berth featuring a curved headboard to the aft port transom with access to both port and starboard sides. Two wardrobes and a vanity unit with a stool and two full length mirrors all add to the comfort of this aft cabin.
An ensuite toilet room with a separate showering area is located to starboard, this was a first for a boat as compact as the 33 and is a great feature on this boat.
