Drifting By is not yet two decades old and yet her lines suggest a launch from a bygone era. This is in fact because the hull is modelled on the Saunders umpire launches and was remoulded by Bossoms as their popular Patricia hull. As far as we know Drifting By is the only one of these launches built with a cabin in varnished mahogany. The interior has a small heads and galley while the forward area opens into a canopied seating area with long cushioned benches suitable for up to 12 people. It would be ideal for entertaining whether privately or commercially. A private owner would be able to overnight on occasion as the side seating is wide enough to double as a berth on either side. The Victorian vibe is further enhanced by the clerestory which gives added height in the cabin without detracting from the elegant lines. For dining on board there is a table with folding sides and a good sized cupboard beneath the forward deck.

The 2.5 kw electric motor is on a shaft with the batteries concealed within vented lockers. The boat has been regularly maintained both above and below the waterline. There is a useful inspection hatch to free weed from the propellor should that be necessary. In 2020 new covers were fitted to the canopy. I strongly suggest a viewing at Benson Waterfront where the mooring would be available should it be required, although by separate negotiation.
