fitted to the post on the stern is automatic, switching on at dusk and off at dawn.

The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.

Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.

Owners Comments

We bought her in 2011 from the UK’s main Bavaria dealer, Clipper Marine on the Hamble. She was the high
spec Bavaria Cruiser 40 show boat at the 2010 Southampton Boat Show and as such she came with lots of extras.
These included in-mast mainsail, electric windlass, warm air Webasto heater, upgraded navionics, the upgraded
cockpit table, a galley microwave, extra water tank, additional domestic battery, Bimini and jackstays.

She’s been a good boat to own; safe, comfortable, easy to manoeuvre and good to sail. She is easily handled by two
people as all the lines come back to the cockpit. We reckon to achieve around half the wind speed except in very light,
or very strong, winds. She behaves well going astern – a real bonus with stern-‐to mooring in the Mediterranean.

Sails well and is a very safe and comfortable boat. She is also very dry – we leave clothes on board from one
season to the next without any condensation or mildew problems.

The manually operated lowering transom makes an ideal swim platform and is perfect for dinghy access.

We have tended to spend the summer months on board (May to September/October. August in the UK) and she
makes a very comfortable home afloat. We use the forward cabin as the master suit and allocate the after cabins for
guests, although the starboard aft cabin tends, like on so many boats, to be used for storage. Having two heads
means guests can have their own facilities and Breeze has suited non sailor guests as well as old sea dogs.

We have had a programme of continual upgrades and since new we have added many extras such as solar panels, AIS,
Navtex, windlass radio remotes, auto anchor light, pressure deck wash, etc. The solar panels have been amazing
making the boat DC self sufficient and independent of shore supplies. The Victron inverter gives us a modest mains
supply when needed.

Maintenance Record - professionally maintained from new and we have embarked upon a programme
Of continual upgrading. As well as the regular maintenance jobs such as antifouling and engine winterisation we have
added extra facilities and features. New rudder bearings were fitted in 2017. New state-of-the-art seacocks were fitted
in 2018. Two high-power solar panels with comprehensive digital control means Breeze can exist without the need to
connect to shore supplies.

So, you’ll be asking, if she is so good why are you selling? Well, the answer is, I am afraid to say, aging bones.
The boat has survived the years far better than her skipper. I am less nimble around the deck these days and I
recognise that it’s time to spend more time ashore and much less time afloat. It’s a very sad realisation. We’ll be sorry
to say farewell – we have grown very fond of her.

She’s looked after us in some pretty unpleasant weather and she’s pampered us in quiet, stunning anchorages. We may
be saying goodbye but we have so many happy memories.
