There’s no doubt that an Azimut Atlantis 40 HT is one of the most gorgeous yachts ever built, just look how stunning the Italian craftsmen shaped her lines. With the all new hard top they just did a fantastic job!

…and if you believe it is just the outer shell that looks magnificent you’re wrong. It takes only four steps down to enter a whole new era of yacht design. I’ve seen many yachts in my life but there’s no substitute to the outer and inner looks other than an Atlantis 40.

Stylish flamboyant is probably the best way to describe the yard’s super successful yacht.

Manoeuvring

Twin Volvo’s and duoprop propulsion, there’s nothing else that can beat it in terms of manoeuvrability. It is this system only that allows shockingly tight turns and gives the most out of a litre of diesel fuel. The combination of Azimuts well-designed hull and the twin Volvo Penta’s give you a fast and economical ride wherever you’re going. This example is also equipped with a bow thruster, necessary? Not at all, but handy sometimes.

Performance

So we have spoken about the exterior and interior, but what about the performance?

…well, 36 knots with only 2 x 330hp! The designer started well with installing Volvo’s reliable new series engine that lasts for decades and thousands and thousands of hours.

A very sharp deep-V bow will cut the water with ease and keep it comfortable when ploughing through heavy seas. From the deep-V the lines continue to flatten out towards her stern where only about 11 degrees angle keep the yacht lifted almost full out of the water. The result is a yacht that turns sharp, goes fast and with a minimum of fuel being burned every hour. The most spectacular part is the acceleration from zero to full where only a couple of seconds are needed. You want to tow an entire ski-team? No problem!

Cockpit

After stepping on board the very deep and wide teak laid platform there’s an immediate feel of space, the cockpit has been designed very well with space for at least 8 persons. The touch of a button opens a lot of square metres of electric roof allowing sun and air in. With the cockpit table lowered you create a huge lounge area or aft sun pads for two. Up there’s space for dining comfortably with six and in front at port side there’s a fixed chaise longe directly opposite of the helm seat. Great to stay connected while underway.

At starboard there’s a refined wet bar with refrigerator, electric grill, sink with hot and cold water and lots and lots of storage. It is the Italians who can make it like this. Where else can you find a wet bar like this? Look at the perfection if it’s hardened and toughened glass tinted top.

In front of all this there’s the two-seater helm with the full Raymarine navigation pack with the newest Axiom touch screen multifunction chartplotter and radar. A TriData instrument displays depth, speed, trip(s) and water temperature, furthermore you find the autopilot, anchor chain counter, Lenco trim-tabs controller with led-indicator and of course the bow thruster joystick.

Salon

A fully airconditioned and very modern and light interior in white washed oak with oversized side windows, a good designed leather sofa with a hard corner to relax and watch tv. The full beam top windows fill the salon with light. The salon table can be lowered to any position and can be converted in case six must sleep.

Galley

On port side you find her galley with all appliances needed for a longer period on board. Everything is nicely hidden behind foldable tops and the amount of storage here is normally found on 60 footers.

Master cabin

The bow houses the master cabin over her full beam, the raised French bed is comfortable and of course you find good lighting, good ventilation and an en-suite bathroom with stylish glass bowl wash basin, tinted plexiglass shower door and of course the well known vacuflush toilet.

Guest cabin

In the aft also over her full beam there’s the double berth guest cabin, of course this one is also fully airconditioned/heated and houses an en-suite bathroom with all facilities as well. Storage is like the owners cabin second to none. It always surprises me how much more storage can be found by Azimut’s designers compared to other brands.
